‪Small, interesting and inexpensive‬
ספט׳ 2019
‪The museum is good for giving more context about the abandoned buildings scattered around the island, and the island's history. Most of the descriptions are in Japanese, but we were given a guide in English once we bought our tickets.
It's only a small museum but the entrance fee is very reasonable and it was an interesting place to look around while we stepped out of the midday sun.‬

‪only 5 paragraphs in English‬

‪Compact one-room exhibition with pictures and props. Left an impression with our kids. Too bad only 5 paragraphs are in English and the remainder in Japanese.‬

‪Okunoshima Island Poison Gas Museum, 01 Jul'18‬
יולי 2018
‪01 July, 2018.
The Wife, Junior and I had planned a one-day trip to Okunoshima
island, otherwise known as the `Rabbit Island'. The Rabbit Island
hides some dark history: the poison gas factory which was hosted
on the island. There are many ruins of the storage and power
facilities, and one small museum with photographs and artifacts
of the dark past of the island, and its facilities. Photography
is prohibited inside the museum. On entering the place, one buys
tickets to the place. The main gallery is a small room to the
left, and a small auditorium is there in a room to the right.‬

‪Small museum but worth to visit‬
חברים • פבר׳ 2018
‪We came to the island to visit the bunnies but since we had some time till next ferry, we decided to go to the museum. We expected nothing to be honest, but the visit was for sure worth it. The museum was only like two rooms and most descriptions were in Japanese, but the artifacts were really interesting and it was great to also see the "not so cute" side of the island.‬

‪Interesting history but mostly in Japanese‬

‪This museum was interesting and there was an English pamphlet but I felt like a lot of the museum displays were only in Japanese. The museum is VERY small but worth it if you’re already on the island. I wouldn’t go out of my way to visit it though.‬

‪An Island with History worth finding out about‬
משפחה • נוב׳ 2017
‪Most people go to the island to feed and play with the rabbits and some would not even think to go into the Poison Gas Museum. But at 100 yen, or approx one US dollar it is worth spending a little time looking at the detailed although very small display. An information brochure in English was given to us buy the little man at the door. There is some translation into English on the displays as well. The exhibits are original. they give you an insight to how little protected the workers at this chemical plant were. Many died from terrible burns from chemical spills etc. Others died years later, the after effects from years of being subjected to dangerous chemicals without proper protection. it is definitely a sad history for the island, but one that should never be forgotten. Even though most of the display was in Japanese it does not take much to be able to understand what the museum is displaying and saying to us as visitors. It is well worth spending that 100 yen and taking a short time out of your day to visit this little Museum.‬

‪An Island with a Sad History‬
משפחה • מאי 2017
‪This museum tells the story of this island's sad history as a secret chemical weapons manufacturing and testing center during WWII. Unfortunately, much of the information is only in Japanese. ‬

‪Very interesting place‬

‪I was not aware of the goings on here during WW2, my sole purpose of my visit to Okunoshima was to see the rabbits but it's great to get the odd history lesson, the exhibits were original and even though there wasn't much English translation I understood what was on display, worth the visit.‬

‪Interesting, but only a little bit has English signage, so you dont know what a lot of things are.‬
משפחה • אוג׳ 2016
‪Certainly worth the admission fee, which was 2 or 3 dollars. Make sure to read the pamphlet in English so you have a clue.‬
