Tremendous view. The place is isolated and far away from crowded center. You will see people here and there, but not a lot. There are many parkings along the street where you can park the car and then have a short 15-30 mins walk to the ‘big red mountain’. The views are amazing. You can see the airport, city, and ... i dont think is something until the volcano which you cannot see.
Important. Have good shoes. Terrain is pretty rocky. Some water, as there ia nothing around for drinks. Some battery at phone for some stunning pictures and enjoy!

I kept thinking of this song as I walked along the road passing the mountain, I walked part of the Tenerife coast over five days, and this was part of my journey.
When you fly into Tenerife South airport, you can't miss this mountain, well you won't, but hopefully the plane you're landing in will!
There is a lovely beach sitting at the foot of it, looked very popular from where I was walking about 1km away. There is a path from that beach, but also from other points on the main road where you can walk up the mountain, doesn't look too much effort, there seemed to be a lot of people walking up and down it when I went passed that day.
I would be more reviewing the vista, it is the epitome of Tenerife, carved by the volcanic landscape, and scorched to look at this beautiful red colour. Definitely worth a visit on your trip. I'll be back for sure.

Amazing view at the top, brilliant view of the airport . Planes taking off and landing .
Take about 30 minutes to climb about 180 metres . Ok with good shoes . No scandals . Really enjoyed the climb and would do it again

Beautiful views from top.
Not a difficult walk up or down. Can take about 20 minutes to ascend. Walk starts around mountain and then paths continue upwards.
Was nice to go up early in morning as less people and sun not too strong.

Well worth the walk up the mountain for spectacular views along the coast. Take a packed lunch and take in the view. The beach at El Medano is also worth a stroll out of town.

Climbing Montana Roja was fun. It was easy with a little bit of a challenge, as it was quite windy. Almost windy enough where you could lean forward and not fall. There's a beautiful view at the top. I wasn't initially going to climb this, but I'm glad I did because I caught the sunset. It can be a little slippery going down.

Here you will see Montana Roja sticking out from nowhere just at the other end of the beach and yet on the other side of this mountain you will find a park where if you wish you can climb this Mountain and if that's not enough of isolation wala there are a multitude of windsurfers

A great sunrise walk with my husband. Took us less time than we thought to climb - about 90 mins up and down with a rest at the top.
Take a torch if starting your walk before sunrise as it’s v easy to trip even when you can see where you’re going!

Easy free parking near the mountain and then walking around the trails are quite easy. Some great views and getting to the top is relatively easy and can be done in about 30 to 45 mins. Walk around the creater if you get a chance

Che bella domanda!!!!! Dipende da che camminatrice sei!!!
Non e' una scalata ma una passeggiata su un sentiero in salita di circa 3 km e si deve superare un dislivello di 170 mt. Quindi non spaventarti in 30/45 minuti arrivi a godere di una vista mozzafiato. Non necessita di atrezzatura, c'e' gente che ci sale in ciabatte (sconsigliato)
