Stunning walk! You are greeted on the drive up by mountain goats and you'll see them along the path. It is an easy path to walk up and down but wear good walking shoes. Make sure you pack a water bottle, hat and wear sunblock. The view at the end is incredible. Well worth the walk.

I wanted to see the sunrise, and walked to the Mirador de Juanar early in the morning, although the view over Marbella is quite nice from there, the sun would rise behind a mountain on the left.
So I walked back a bit and found a path that let to a trail up the mountain.
To get all the way to the top might not be so easy for everyone, but the view from the top was stunning. As well as the sunrise

This was one of our walking destinations in Estapona, Spain. Magnificent views to the coast. We were also spoilt by having a family of mountain goats watch us arrive, pose for photographs, then watch us leave again. Excellent interaction with the local fauna.

This is a hidden gem a few km up the Ojen road up the hills from the coast past La Cañada Shopping Centre. Beware the fixed speed cameras on this road. From the main road follow signs to the hotel Refugio de Juanar, there is a further 4 to 5 km to go on a narrow but tarmac road and finally a passable unpaved track to the gate of the park. You need to bypass the hotel on the right and drive on up the hill. Once inside, there are several routes to choose from so you can pace or choose flat or climbing routes. The park has pine and olive groves, numerous herbs growing wild everywhere. Walking tracks lead in many directions. You can even climb La Concha, Marbella's iconic mountain from here if so desired.

Views are fantastic, we took it one step further and climbed up to the Cruz de Juanar, hard work but worth it for the view.

We had some fantastic weather during December 2018 so went to visit the park with our 2 years old son. The climate was a bit cooler early in the morning, but it rises during the day. It took us about 1 hour or so walking with our toddler as he was wandering around the park before we finally reached the vista point which incredibly amazing. I hiked up a hill to get a better view, and the view was amazing from the top. Apparently, this park was famous for the mushroom as along the way we saw many people brought some basket full of mushroom. They mentioned, they've searched for the mushroom in a pine forest. If you're planing to search for one, come early in the morning and bring along some basket and some stick to scout the ground by the pine forest. Not sure whether the mushroom season last all year around? And pack some good picnic to have under the tree. Bring enough water, some shades, SPF lotion, mosquito repellant and wear very comfortable sport/hiking shoes.

It takes circa 15 min from Marbella and I can only recommend a trip to the Park. There are several beautiful trips in the park. It’s very well taken care of and a place to see again for sure.

Nice walk to take, it’s a bit short, but if you are well prepared, than try challenge yourself to go to the top of the mountain. Hopefully this time goat was on the mountain, cool place for pics.
