Mountain biking and hiking here are wonderful!! We rented e-mtbikes at the Bamby store near the bottom of the cable car station in Ortisei, and they loaded the bikes into the car for us. We were able to ride around on the Panorama Trail (213) and it was marvelous! My only caution is that don't do the full loop -- the bike rental guys told us to do that and the last section is AWFUL because you share the road with logging trucks who have ripped the dirt road to absolutely dangerous conditions and also, they are huge and appear out of nowhere! It is an insane amount of downhill, as you descend from about 6000FT to town. It isn't fun riding, even for people who love mountain biking. No skill, just awful encounters with trucks and bad trails that were sometimes 8 inches deep in soft mud. Instead, turn back at Saltria, and had back via the cable car going down. The trail up on the meadow itself is wonderful. Lots of good hill climbs, not very technical. Highly recommend the Eidelweiss hutta, where the food is delicious, you can sit outside with a wonderful view. Lots of bike racks that double as ski racks in winter!

Take the cable car /tram up to groomed trails, walk to restaurants, catch other trams after you have hiked a bit. Go hiking to the higher mountains from here if you would like.

Lovely ski area. Very expansive and plenty of nice long blues and reds. Numerous great on hill restaurants and snack bars. Recommend staying in a hotel on the hill as the access road is closed between 9am and 5pm which was an annoyance given we were in Siusi at the bottom of the hill and the cablecar was a bit of a walk with skiis and boots - so driving up would have been much better. (Hence 4* for me)

Amazing but watch the clock!
After an incredible day of hiking and enjoyment in this lovely place, we missed the lift and gondola down! A waiter told us the lift closes at 6pm when it stops running at 5. We literally had to hike down to Orteisi a very treacherous 2600 ft decent. We were told by VERY unsympathetic hotel staff it was “only an hour” and not worth it to call a taxi all the way up the mountain. It was barely a foot path in most places — it was 2.5 hours down switchbacks. Straight up dangerous and disappointing to be so dismissed. Of course this can happen to anyone, but there should be a posted alternative that is safe. We literally finished in the dark.

It baffles me how many "reviewers" here are focused on parking lot discussions and food at a ski station. Really?!
I've been in this area many times and all seasons. It's nothing less than spectacular and one of the many incredible settings in this area of the Dolomiti.
I recommend the folks rating this less than five stars find their way to Disney World.

With hardly any wait and a cable car for no more than 8 people this is a much nicer way of getting up to and down from the Seiser Alm than taking the bus. The short trip provides more of the stunning views of the Schlern with its distinct peaks. Single trip tickets were €13 but it is all part of the experience.

Visited on the first day that the chair lift was open in spring 2019, and had a spectacular day. Enough people to make it unlovely, but few enough so you felt the treasure was all yours. Blue skies, greenish field and snow capped mountains in the distance.

We used the cable car in winter - from the lower station in Seis am Schlern it's more than 4 kilometres, height difference of 800 metres and roughly 15 minutes to upper station at Kompatsch/Compaccio. Great ride with good views on clear weather although remember to wear warm cloths as the temperature falls quickly when ascending. There's a free parking at the lower station.

An area for skiing large enougth, but with kind of a short and old skilifts. One day skypass is 57 eur per adult, but you need to chase a parking spot (if arriving by car). Therefore you need to wake up early in the mornings...

It is a sessellift (double seats), which takes you up to the alm with a small but very effcient restaurant with great views and many walks. Wanted to eat the goats, but couldn't find on menu. They were very helpfull getting on and off the chair.

Hello Dolomites experts!
I have a hiking schedule in end of September and wondering if it is possible to have a hiking route from Alpe Di Siusi (taking cable car from Ortisei, at 8:30am) to Sassolungo area ending by taking the last bus (5:30pm) in Passo Sella.
I am in the middle of my research and using online info only...
Appreciate any info!
