‪Foggy visit‬

‪Beautiful monastery, I really enjoyed it, there is a great photo opportunity from outside to go on top of a little bridge made by some rocks, be careful and then you get a photo of yourself with the monastery on the background. The monastery has many churches. Very nice!‬

‪We had wedding here, and it was amazing. The place is very friendly for tourists. It's a big complex of ancient churches. These are actually the prototypes of the first Christian churches ever‬

‪Beautiful Monastery in the Forest‬

‪A serene area, adorable little cafe with honey shop and beautiful willow tree over looking the monastery. Don't forget to go towards the back of the complex and walk through the walnut tree for good fortune! ‬

‪One of the most beautiful churches of Armenia for sure. The whole complex is very beautiful and aesthetic. You can feel Armenian and Christian spirit.‬

‪Beautiful monastery, even better drive.‬

‪This is a little monastery outside of Dilijan. The monastery was like the others in Armenia, however the drive was gorgeous. Well worth the visit.‬

‪A monastery on the mountains and forests of Dilijan ...‬
ספט׳ 2019
‪Reaching "Haghartsin Monastery" is already an amazing part of its visit! Located at "Dilijan National Park", "Haghartsin Monastery" is surrounded by beautiful forests on a mountainside. It was built on the command of the Bagratuni royal dinasty back in the 10th century. During its golden years, 300 monks lived within its walls. As a matter of fact, "Haghartsin Monastery" is a complex of churches, known as "St. Stepanos" (St. Stephen - 1232), "St. Grigor Lusavorich" (St. Gregory the Illuminator - 1244) and "Surp Astvatsatsin" (The Holy Mother of God - 1281). A refectory hall, built in 1248, has 12 impressive columns, each representing one of the 12 apostles of Jesus Christ and the Holy Supper. A belltower and an underground vault (built to keep sacred relics safe) complete the scene. Visit all of them and do not miss the old dry fig tree located in the back of the complex. It has a hole in its middle and anyone can make a wish and pass through this hole, thus making this dream come true. Amazing legends! "Haghartsin Monastery" has undergone major restorations in 2011 under the patronage of HRH Sultan bin Muhammed Al-Qasimi, ruler of the Emirate of Sharjah, in the United Arab Emirates. Maybe too much restored, but still worth visiting. Enjoy!‬

‪Drive during winter is the best part‬
דצמ׳ 2019
‪The drive to the monastery is the best experience with slight snow covered trees on both sides & if ur lucky can sight some animals also. Haghartsin Monastery with working altar from the 13th century. You can also see the original Armenian letters (origin 405AD) carved on the stone walls of the Monastery. Armenian Apostolic church is found in 1st century AD you can find the church manuscripts near the altar.‬
