Interesting story about local wines and spirits

The products from this winery you’ll find in all souvenir shops around. So, why not to come and learn by yourself how they create these products ( wine, liquors, gin, alcohol)? The tour is not so long, and the best is testing of products with qualified explanation.

A High Point

Situated high in the hills about 3Km out of Potes, this winery and distillery offers an informative tasting opportunity in an idealistic setting.
We were told that there would be an English-speaking guide at weekends, but in the event, we were given a print-out explanation to read as we went round the various rooms and stages.
Unusually, both wines and spirits are produced here.
Then came the tastings. First, two white wines, delicious in their different ways, enhanced by the blue sky and the view over the valley to the vineyard.
Next, the glorious reds, (see website for details).
Then the spirits: from pure Schnapps, to exquisite Gin, Mead, Cream, Coffee, etc., etc.
There was another difference too: there was no apparent limit on the number of 'tastes' you could have!
Moral of the story: walk there, if possible, then taxi back!

Great first visit to a winery

We got a free visit to the winery + free bottle of wine from the hotel we were staying in. It was really entertaining and we certainly learnt a lot about wines and the area... great wine and liquor tasting at the end accompanied by some local food... just perfect plan!!

Stopped by on the off chance it was open and glad we did. . Managed to get a tour of the winery and a tasting session at the end. Delicious and interesting!! Bought some delicious marmalade laced with local alcohol and some local coffee spirit. Also we were given free bottle if wine on leaving. . Thank you!!
