‪Important and sad history‬

‪Coming to the peak or hiking, or with car (good road, parking on top), you can check museum, walk in the trenches and handmade caves. Whole hill is like an ant city, just because of World War and fights, which were really strong here / following river Soča (Soča front).‬

‪Sabotin park miru is one of the most beautiful reminders of the First world war, 1000s Slovenians dying on the Soča river front during 1915-17 fighting for Austro- Hungarian empire.
Bogdan is doing a great job keeping it all alive!‬

‪We went hiking, on top of mount Sabotin we had a nice quick lunch. Children (8 and 10 years old) were very excited about the caves, so we decided to go on a guided tour. At first I thought 1,5 hours qill be too much for my boys, but it turned out it was a great decision. The tourguide showed us around, told us a lot of interesting facts about the war, we visited some caves, we saw original things from the first world war. The your ended with museum, also very fascinating. Definitely recommend it, in fact we will go there again, for sure!‬

‪well done site to remind on the dark days and the many dead soldiers in WW1 during Isonzo battles. Unfortunately the little museum was not open (opens only on weekends) when we were there. In addition you have a beautiful view from the top of the hill.‬

‪Sabotin is such an exciting site in Slovenia! First of all, it is a very exciting site of the first world war in Slovenia/Italy (possibility to visit the trenches during the weekend) and also, a gorgeous natural site. We spent a couple of hours just walking in this site, admiring the Slovenian and Italian surrounding. If you don't visit the trenches, the access to the site is free of charge. Enjoy!‬

‪Worth a trip if you are a couple of days in Gorica Brda. You can go there by car, foot or bicycle. Up there you have an amazing view, where you can have a meal and drinks.

Don’t forget the to climb the ridge behind the mountain cabin to have a view on Sveta Gora. ‬

‪I have visited Sabotin twice in one month. First I was invited with a group of friends, second time I took my other group of friends to see it. Everyone was fascinated - both times.
Mr. Bogdan knows all about the history of the first world war, tells true stories that you wouldn't believe it. Him and his friends are trying to show us a lot about what has happened, why this
mountain was so important and the top of this park has changed time zone - you return 100
years ago, you see the cavern where soldiers lived, fought and died for their country. Almoust two hour tour through cavern and the small museum costs only 2€.
You can also have a good home cooked meal on top, a glass of wine or something else if you wish, and you won't spend much at all.‬
