This is a lovely beach and is more for families who want to paddle/swim/paddle board, although you can surf there most of the surfers go further along to Fistral, Great Western or Whipsiderry.
Theres a couple of nice little cafes, toilets and in the summer there's a hole in the wall in the beach which sells, ice-cream, coffee, snacks etc.
Dogs are only allowed on the beach before 10.00am or after 6.00pm in the summer.

If you just want a clean beach then this is the place to come. There is very little else in Porth but Watergate Bay is the one direction and Newquay the other.

Because it's a narrow cove , surfing is not permitted but body boarding and paddle boarding are . The Mermaid pub is on the beach and Cafe Coast is a great place to go for refreshments.
Generally a safe, clean beach with lifeguards during the summer season. However, dogs are not permitted on this beach between April and October ( only before 10am or after 7pm)

Lovely flat beach, ideal for dogs in the winter months with nearby Mermaid pub for a lovely carvery Sunday roast.

Very few people on the beach even though it was Half Term. Very clean beach area and beautiful views. Well worth a visit.

Family outing with wife, son & partner with 3 grandchildren. Everyone had a great time and I was able to drive my eFoldi mobility scooter both up and down without assistance

Away from the main busy beaches of Newquay , a large sandy cove with a river at the side, tidal, but still space when tide in to remain on beach, car parking available. Toilets , but to one side, lifeguards and refreshments available.
Good for body boards paddle boards and swimming or just messing about, not a main surfing beach so safe fir the kids.

Great beach, myself and my small family went down to this beach twice on our holiday, was really enjoyable for all. The on the beach parking is a lovely touch also. I would highly recommend whether for a chilled beach day, nice swim or even to go out on paddle boards.

It's the last day of our holiday tomorrow and so we will leave our accommodation in the morning. Are there any showers on porth beach to use at the end of the day, before we set off for home?

Yes my friends often have a small fire or a bbq on the beach once most people have gone home and not had a problem. Just be aware to remove any remains of the burnt material upon leaving and everyone should be happy. Enjoy!

Yes very easy to get onto.
Where is the nearest car park (with a decent amount of space)? Some sites say it's litrally over the road from the beach while others say that this car park are for guests of the camp site only.

Its a general car park for all to use, it is owned and run by the campsite and you need to pay though

Does anyome know how to go about complaining about the amount of dog poo all over this beach? It’s always been our favourite family beach and go every year but we’ve been down this week and it’s absolutely covered in dog poo 😡😡 we was walking with our shoes off and several times nearly trod in it.

We certainly saw many dogs on the beach at Porth, I think that there are time restrictions, but they may only apply during school holidays. Linda and Trevor will be able to give more detail as they have a dog. Enjoy your stay, we certainly did!

There is a beach to the right of Porth Beach as you look out to sea, which you get to through the gap in the Island at low tide. I think there are steps at the far end. Are dogs allowed on this beach please? Or are they subject to same ban as Porth main beach.
