Great dog friendly beach, with toilets and refreshments close by. The weather was only good enough to visit the beach on one day, although it did stay fine all week.

Much busier than other beaches we visited on our visit to Newquay, and a real sandy haven especially for families. All the necessary facilities are just above the beach, and the town with car parks and transport links just minutes away.

Went with my 8yo daughter to walk along the beach, searching for pearls!!! 😂 Was fun to watch the surfers brave the waves, saved a Pug from drowning and discovered a mysterious tunnel in the cliffs. Nice to walk along at sunset when the tide is out, but also fun to get splashed by the waves during the afternoons. Lots of points of interest here.

Lovely beach but homeless people/wild campers? have set up on the cliffside, so the area is a real mess. Men congregate there drinking and making noise.
Their encampment photo bombs in a negative way every picture taken towards the iconic Island House. I really hope something can be done soon to get the people and encampent moved as it lets the area down badly.

Stunning beach, first visit and we loved it. A little steep to get up and down. The steps generally lead to a rocky underfoot before reaching the sand. Crystal clear water and lots of mini pools which both our dog and toddler loved. Clean and tidy. A little beauty spot

You can walk onto this beach from
Newquay town centre down steps or a path. Clean beach. Sone shops & food outlets close by. A nice place to take a walk or play with the kids in the sea.

We was lucky enough to spend some time here whilst in Newquay. The beach was lovely with beautiful golden sand and lots of surfing going on. The house at the top of the rocks is really cool too

Right in the heart of Newquay. Close to restaurants, bars,shops and Newquay Activity centre and surf schools. Great location,car parks are close.

Towan beach is in the heart of Newquay town. Lovely golden sand like all the beaches in Newquay. I love Cornwall. We stayed at headland but in the past life hotel Victoria which is very close to Towan beach

I'm thinking of taking my daughter on her first snorkelling along the left side of Towan beach at high tide (along the rocks and towards the outside of the harbour wall, not too close though obviously). Any advice?

If you go make sure it is a calm day. The undercurrents around Cornwall can be dangerous.
