Near Leicester Square metro station and on the way to St. Martin’s theater where Mousetrap is performed, this is an absolute must for any true Agatha Christie fan.

You can find this beautiful memorial located at the junction of Cranbourn Street and Great Newport Street. It is just a two minutes walk away from the Saint Martin’s Theatre where the world’s longest-running play her masterpiece The Mousetrap has been running for nearly 70 years. Very few people know that she was a qualified pharmaceutical assistant who visited London during her childhood. She was so fascinated by this city that she decided to move here after her marriage. This wonderful city inspired her to pen the 66 detective novels which are still loved world over. In fact Agatha Christie is outsold only by Bible and Shakespeare. This befitting ebony monument was created by Ben Twiston-Davies. It stands in the form of a leather bound book with a circular opening in it. You can see the author’s face in profile in this gap. At the base of the structure you can see most of of her books with their names in print and brail. You can also see her main brainchildren like Hercule Poirot, Miss Jane Marple and the Orient Express on this memorial.

We were visiting London to see Agatha Christie’s Mouse Trap and decided to visit the status as it was near to the theatre. Great piece of architecture and very informative.

The memorial to Agatha Christie is located near Leicester Square Tube station. NOT IN DRURY LANE as trip advisor would have you believe. Fortunately a google search pointed me in the right direction.
Agatha Christie was a crime writer who wrote many novels. A couple of her most famous characters are Hercule Poirot and Miss Marple. Both of whom had an uncanny knack of solving murders.
Well worth hunting down this memorial if you are in the area and it is close to St Martin's Theatre where Christie's play - The Mousetrap is still being put on.

It’s appropriate that this modern bronze memorial is in the form of a book and that it’s located in the middle of Central London’s theatre and cinema district. There’s a wealth of information about Agatha Christie in the various inscriptions. Worth tracking this down if you’re a fan of her work.

Fittingly near Leicester Square this bronze statue of our iconic English author and play-write, Agatha Christie. The memorial is in the form of a book with the author in the middle. The titles of many of her books and plays are also inscribed on the monument.
