Wellington was arguably the most significant British military commander so it’s not too surprising that there are monuments to him all over London and the rest of the UK. This one is quite similar to the one in front of the Royal Exchange in the City of London, with the Duke on horseback on a pink granite plinth. Here he’s flanked by soldiers from four of the regiments he commanded, each representing one of the four parts of the United Kingdom. This memorial is overshadowed by the imposing Wellington Arch behind it and other monuments all around it but worthwhile all the same.

Nice statue of the Duke on his horse Copenhagen. It looks at Aspley House the dukes home. Like the statue of Achilles close by this again was made from bronze of French canons.

The vast traffic island in which this statue shares pride of place with the Wellington Arch, the Royal Artillery Memorial, the Machine Gun Corps Memorial, and, most recently, the sixteen bronze sticks on a hillock commemorating New Zealand’s dead in two World Wars. It portrays Wellington on his horse Copenhagen on a campaign on a plinth surrounded on each of four sides by a representative British soldier from a different regiment. It was executed in bronze by the sculptor Joseph Boehm and unveiled in 1888. It directly faces Apsley House, Wellington’s former residence.

The Duke of Wellington statue is located in Hyde Park Corner within view of the Wellington Arch.

This is another great historical statue in London that is overlooked but should be visited more by the general public and tourists in order to keep it in the public eye and to keep the history of this great man prominent

This statue stands in tribute to the Iron Duke and is located on the north side of Hyde Park Corner.
The statue stands atop a plinth and depicts Wellington on horseback, mounted on his horse Copenhagen. At each corner of the plinth are four figures of British soldiers representing the British divisions that fought under his leadership. A Grenadier, a Scottish Highlander, an Irish Dragoon and a Welsh Fusilier.
A fine monument to one of the finest commander ever and British hero .

The statue is both one of the monuments on Hyde Park Corner and part of the overall celebration of the Duke of Wellington and his achievements in particular at the Battle of Waterloo, which brought peace to Europe.

Very impressive Status of the Duke - but the location isn't the best - hard to really see it without getting up close - and tougher to navigate walking. But still worth the effort if you are visiting the Wellington Arch and heading into Hyde Park, from the Hyde Park Corner Tube Station. Interesting - no one we saw even cast a glance at the statue or seemed at all interested.

This lovely statue is on the same park as the Wellington Arch and is sadly facing right into the foliage of a large tree. This makes taking pictures of it rather hard. The base is hard to miss though with Wellington etched across both side in huge letters.
