‪A Green Space In A Busy City‬

‪Although it is situated quite a distance from the city centre, the walk is well worth the effort as, at times, the peace and quiet of this park is a refreshing break from the bustle of Oxford. Some fine views are on offer from the high ground here, and there is ample space for walking and picnicking. Some big events are held here in the summer, but during the quieter times it is a real peaceful haven. An added bonus for the peace-seeker can be found across the busy road if you enter the serene and shady Headington Hill Park, which is full of rare and unusual trees. You can visit both of the parks in one trip. I would certainly recommend a visit. Well worth the hike!!‬

‪Walk here most mornings . Normally very quiet so plenty of space . Shame the language schools cannot teach their pupils to pick up their own litter as often strewn . ‬

‪Beautiful park with lovely walks with your dog‬

‪A truly beautiful park with views over Oxford. The park is 50 acres in size and is a lovely place to just sit and relax or walk your dog.‬

‪Its usually a quite good park though even in high summer with no events is
not very busy.
The Old Road to London began up the hill in the woods at the back of this park.
You can still see the road marking stones.
The Common People Pop Festival which for some years ran in the park will
not be running any longer.
Yesterday local news sources stated that The Organisers of The Parks Annual Pop festival had gone out of business leaving debts of £500,000.(Oxford Mail 29/01/19)
Would not recommend this park after dark as there have over the years been reported
a number of incidents in The nearby Headington Hill Road and other roads around the park which is the main coach and bus stops to London.
Does anyone know where Hippy Alison from Harrow who lived in 'The Gingerbread Cottage'is now?(circa 1979/80)‬

‪Beautiful green space for picnics and views of Oxford Spires‬

‪South Parks in St Clements a short walk from the city centre is a large multilayered park full of wonderful trees and large open spaces ideal for social gatherings picnics and games. At the top of the park an exercise area and areas for formal games football etc. Shaded areas under mature trees overlooking the historical Oxford Spires. Very popular with dog walkers and international students away from the hustle and bustle of the very busy Cowley Rd. Many events also take place here throughout the year including good and music festivals funfairs and circuses.‬

‪Nice place to visit if your in the area.
Amazing view of Oxford city centre and a lovely big tree in the middle I like to go to.
Basic Exercise equipment around the edge and a children’s park at the top
Good for picnics, jogging and sunbathing ‬

‪Great park, iconic views over Oxford‬

‪See the dreaming spires from one of their most famous vantage points. South Park sits on the hill that rises towards Headington offering great views back to Oxford.

But, it's also a great park - with fitness trail and children's playground at the Warneford Lane end. As a huge open space, it's also a great venue - hosting large events: fireworks, music and food festivals.

It's just beyond St Clements - hop off the Park & Ride or U1 bus and have a wander. ‬
