We had a lovely time here worth it for the garden alone. So relaxing and some great art. A must serum Montmarte. The gardens are stunning to relax in.

It shows the crucial political, artistic and theatrical events that occurred here within a very short time span. Great original paintings, cabaret posters and historic documents relevant to the Commune of 1870 to early Cubism.

i definitely love this place
it s not only a museum , of course you have the regular and regular exhibition about the Montmartre history but when i visited it it was the R Dufy exposition, it was stunning!
besides there is a beautiful garden that provides nice view on the vineyards and sacre Coeur

A magical gem hidden in the heart of Montmarte, so cozy, peaceful and quiet. The atelier of S. Valedon was spectacular and well preserved. You can feel the atmosphere of the times of La Boheme

We have been to Montmarte many times but have never been in this Musuem just South of Sacre Couer !
Many great French painters shared this mansion !

We visited the museum at opening as an introduction to the Montmartre neighborhood. It is located near the top of hill and may be challenging for some people to get to. It is also near the Sacre Coeur and Dali Musuem, and can be paired with visits to them.
The museum had a nice collection of period art, posters and other historical material describing the history and significance of the Montmartre neighborhood.
The museum did a good job of explaining the cultural importance of the Montmartre to Paris. This museum is a great introduction and overview of Montmartre.

I was so thrilled to find this museum. A lovely walk behind the cathedral, quintessential Parisian streets.The museum is in the home of Suzanne Valadron and other artists over time. Her studio is preserved and you can wander in the house to see it as it was. I was excited to learn of her as a woman artist at that time. And, she is the mother of Maurice Utrillo.

The Montemartre Museum was just ok. You will see Renoir’s first studio & some nice areas to take photos of. But that’s just it. The Renoir Garden was closed as there were no flowers. For me, this can be skipped for those planning a tour.

Can visitors walk in the vineyard or is that off limits?

As far as I remember, the vineyards are separated by a wall from the museum's grounds. If there is a connecting gate I am not sure, but most definitely there is no common access.

no need for advance purchase. very small museum... 2 hours is plenty. take the funicular down and then watch for pickpockets and scam artists (3 card monte, etc....) Area is known for tourist crimes.

The museum is open every day from 10-18h. The adult entrance ticket is 9.50. Tickets may be purchased in advance online, to be printed out at home ticketmaster, Regarding group visits which must be booked in advance. The Subway/Metro will take you to Lamarck-Caulaincourt station in the 18th arrondissement; From there, you walk uphill for about 7 mins. to the lovely museum, or you can wait for a little bus.
