Excellent show by Olivier Ratzi, dizzying at times, impactful, quite unique and challenging the senses.
I recommend!

I was at the Gaïté for a music event and found the space to be surprisingly adaptable and functional. It is also aesthetically very lovely, the staff are excellent, and the bar has a good range of options. Also the range of conferencing rooms is a definite plus point, and its position, close to the Jardin du Palais Royale, the Picasso Museum and the Pompidou Centre makes it ideal for getting some serious culture.

La Gaîté-Lyrique is a beautiful building that houses a library for digital arts and modern music. It has a very neo-classical façade, with red marble pillars and statues. On the inside, it has huge Greek columns and staircases on either side opening up a nice wide space.
On the upper level, you have the library, with books and virtual content. There are also a lot of television screens with Xboxes and Playstation for you to play for free, with some games created specially for Gaîté-Lyrique. There is a café too. The lower level houses an auditorium that screens different things throughout the year.
The lower level houses te welcome desk and shop and a space for temporary exhibits, which extends to the -1 level. Currently, the exhibit "Capitaine futur et la supernature" is on, which is a futuristic exhibit with plants and animals of the future which have adapted from technology. It was very interactive and quite interesting. They even had a small robot repressing a plant going around the exhibit. The exhibit was dark and so the door to the toilets couldn't be seen clearly, which made them extremely nice (probably because people didn't know they were there). The toilets on the upper level weren't that good.
There is no entry fee, unless you come to see temporary exhibits or screenings. The staff is nice, although the security guard at the entrance was rather rude. There is free Wi-Fi. If you come just to have a look at the library, expect to spend up to 30 mins there, and for temporary exhibits, it would be up to an additional hour. It is closed on Mondays.
It is very close to the Arts et Métiers Museum and the Square Émile-Chautemps is located outside Gaîté-Lyrique.
Closest metro is Réaumur-Sébastopol on Line 3 and 4, although Arts et Métiers on Lines 3 and 11 isn't far.

Capitaine futur et la supernature is a brilliant exhibition!
If I lived in Paris I would be at La Gaite Lyrique all the time. Capitaine futur et la supernature was really immersive and interactive. The different levels and layout of
La Gaite Lyrique make for a really interesting space I will definitely go back.

An art and digital experience with the kids. Our were 4 and 8 years old.
Plan 2 hours there.
First hour is dedicated to the exhibition itself. The kids' favourite was a family video game where we compete in 2 teams. They were also very interested by the fluorescents flowers which close and open when you clap your hands. I loved the pink "magic forest". As you can read, the place is very much interactive, which makes it interesting for the kids. And as an adult, I like it very much as well, it was very well done. It is quite short though, one hour is enough.
The only critic I have is that the employees could be a bit more kid-friendly.
At the second floor, you can sit and read books at your disposal about the nature, also for kids, and they also have IPads at their disposal with some pre-installed games, of course they loved it. We spent the second hour there :) There is also a café on this floor if you wish. Just outside the place, there is a playground for the younger kids.

This multimedia exhibition space looks at how media and design influence our lives. It has lots of common space such as a library, children's area and cafe, but when I went the 4th floor was closed because they were installing an exhibition so only two floors had installations. Still worth a visit once you exhaust the major sites.

wonderful selection of animated videos, cells, info about how the sets were made. We (teen who likes making videos, and I) really enjoyed seeing various techniques laid out along with the results.
Exhibits rotate - worth going back.

Great space, concept and idea.
The Sunday brunch was creative and interesting.
However, portions somewhat small and bio-orientation was not appreciated by the hungry teenagers who were with me!

With its fabulous exterior dating to 1862 La Gaite Lyrique is an interesting location for a customer or other event. Inside is a modern building with sound isolated amphitheater seating. The bar area has the original decor with a spectacular ceiling and makes a great mingling area. We ran a set of workshops and the spaces were certainly interesting... There is Audi-visual support and in the middle is a set of artists workshops. The Theatre is located close to Réaumur-Sébastopol Metro.

In May while we were in Paris, we visited the Motion Factory in La Gaite Lyrique. Such an amazing exhibition. The exhibition takes you through 3D projects of artists from around the world from the idea to the final product. I highly recommend it for children and teenagers. It could inspire a child to become an artist or an engineer.

Hi the building itself is free, you just pay for the specal exhibitions which are not expensive, but probably varie. You can walk around it, go to the bar and also go to the exhibitions. Just go to the La gaite lyrique website it will have the up to date prices there,
