Lots of ups and downs.
There are several signs telling stories of the historical events of the park, but all of them are worn out to the point where you can't read anything - a real shame such a historical significant place!
No public parking places - you have to park at a nearby hotel.

There's a tram ride, then a 20-minute walk straight uphill to reach this lovely schloss/castle-turned-museum which possesses a room full of Rembrandts on the 3rd floor and another full of Greek, Roman, and Etruscan statuary and artifacts on the 1st. The problem is getting there. A wonderful collection, but it is so inaccessible unless you rent/hire a car or want to turn your museum visit into a major hike. Worse, if you want to visit the falls, it's another hour hike up the mountain high high high above the schloss. Clearly this museum cares little about making its collection accessible to millions of annual potential visitors. They did no outreach or communication to guests at the documenta art fair, keeping those Rembrandts out of sight. This isolated institution is, so to speak, "far above" the city of Kassel both physically and metaphorically. What a waste of a wonderful collection of Rembrandts.

Absolutely stunning in every way - if you come on the days where the water is flowing. That is the first thing to understand about this place. The water only flows 2 times every week (wednesdays and sundays), and only for a short period of time (around 1420-1520-ish). The rest of the time, all water features are dried out. This attracts hoards of people (of course), so be prepared to follow the growd as it flows down the hill along with the water.
The first freature is the big cascade. It lasts for about 20 min, and honestly, I think the best place to see this isn't from the top, but from the big pool at the feet of the cascade. I would recommend you to come early and the walk down to the pool and grab a good viewing point. Tip for photographers - from the pond, you'll face the sun. Prepare accordingly.
The second stop will be the waterfall in the forest. This is a small place and the water is there only for 10 minutes and everyone attempts to get there during the 10 min. It will be crowded.
The third place is the Devil's bridge. Same here. 10 min of waterflow and lots of people. But actually, standing ON the bridge is less of a photo oppertunity than standing below, so aim for the lower part instantly.
The fouth place is the Aqueduct. It is less boring than it sounds since at the end of it turns into a ruin where the water throws itself over the broken edge. Very pretty and a tremendous amount of looking against the sun.
The final part is the big geyserlike fountain at the bottom. This also only works for about 10 min, so if you want to see it start, you'll have to time you visit properly. After a few minutes, the preasure fades and the water with it.
Then you'll have to figure out to get away from the place. If you took public transport up to "Am Herkules", you can take public transport away as well. If you arrived by car, it's a bit more tricky. I couldn't figure out how so I had to walk up the hill again which is a rather hefty exercise.
THe amin thing here after all is that you should come on a water day. You must prepare for a lot of people, so arrive early. If you come by car, the parking lot quickly fills up an hour before it starts. The rest have to park along the road and then walk the extra distance to get to Am Herkules.

When we went, Tuesdays between 11 and 14, many parts of the park were closed.
- The fountains of the Hercules were off. (They seem only to work late afternoon?)
- Tours in the castle (the Löwenburg) are once per hour and the only way to look inside the rooms. (We did not want to wait for 45 minutes there)
- The museum of the palace was closed for renovations.
- The shuttlebus did not operate (only on Wednesdays?)
etc.
The park as a whole is beautiful, and definitely worth a visit. But manage your expectations and check the opening hours of the various attractions beforehand!

A clearly magnificent piece of Unesco World Heritage.
Unique enseblme of statues, lakes, a castle and many other romantic details - all contributing to an astonishing Bergpark experience.

The waterfalls start 520 meter up and you need to walk all the way down, following the water flowding in an amassing and spectacular construction. Be there in prober time before start - otherwise there will be challenge to reach the top before start. Hint: ...to many people.

Lovely park with several extremely beautiful spots. Unfortunately we were a bit stressed by time, because we only had a few hours here and I dont think this is quite enough to explore the entire park.
Would recommend around half a day (4-5 hours) and walk the entire park.

It's a nice big park with some very nice view, just have to make sure that the water is running from the various sites. Also make you have enough time to walk around

We catch a moment of restavration. There were no water shows but it was beautifull anyways. The place has so much magic and beauty. Must to see and take a walk there. You have to free all your day about it because its HUGE. We will come here again to visit the palace.

Is there lots of construction going on right now? I want to go here but when the buildings are in construction work i prefer to go later.

Yeah unfortunately the Lion castle is quite hidden by scaffolding at the moment, as well as parta of the Herkules statue building. It didn’t stop us from loving our experience and our 5-year-old daughter from wanting to spend a second day in the park, though.

I'm pretty sure we saw dogs there, but why don't you check their website to make sure?

große Kaskade in Sanierung und deshalb hier keine Show.
historischem Schloss.
