I am not sure how far the train station is. We were on a cruise ship and we were within walking distance to the cable car. If you tour the fortress it takes about an hour. However, you can come and go at any time once you have a ticket. So it could be shorter. It is very interesting. Hope this helps.

We did the cruise in May. The cable car is within walking distance of where we docked, and there were things to see on the way.
