Very reasonably priced trip (€4.50) to the 28th floor with impressive views of the area. Also a hotel and restaurant at the top.

We were staying in Jena with my son before he starts his studying, he told us the views were great rom up there, I was slightly scared as I hate heights, but it was well worth it, the views are lovely you can see the whole of Jena, we sat and had a drink at the top! It was very cheap as well only £3,50 euros each,

For 3,50 Euro you can go up to the viewing platform on top of the Jen-Tower. It's an nice view with daylight and in the evening. It's recommended to go up there with good weather to have a clear view. There is also a restaurant on top of the tower.

Built by the DDR East Germany as a bit of a showcase for a while. It was even the tallest building in Germany for a few months. East Germans could shop there if they had foreign currency. Not drab and dated.

This was built over 30 years ago and still looks very modern. At the base is a shopping area with a model man trying to climb up.

This cylinder dominates the town center and looks like it is covered in mother of pearl in some lights.

Went on a rainy day. the lift was quick to the top. the view was lovely over the town and out laying areas. you can not walk 360 around.

This is well worth the €3.50 entrance fee. Easy access for all straight to the roof. Easy when up there and spectacular views of the area.

Don't miss out: you HAVE to see the view from the top. On a clear day you see as far as the ancient Leuchtenburg castle. In the evenings, nothing better that the blue hour or late to appreciate the city center of Jena with excellent food and wine at the highly recommended Scala restaurant.

This tower seems to be a landmark of Jena, but many citizens (and me) would call it a monstrosity of communist distaste. For people who know Manhattan (and many other USA-cities) it would look famliar I suppose. Inside there are shops. Take the elevator and enjoy a nice view from above over the city center and the area around, the hills, the scenery etc
