‪Museum closed for renovation‬
משפחה • פבר׳ 2020
‪We wanted to visit the museum in T February 2020 but found that it was closed for renovation. There was no information on their website about it. You may want to check before found all the way there.‬

‪Traditional Museum with exhibits from Roman Spain‬
ינו׳ 2020
‪The Archaeological Museum of Seville is located in the Parque María Luisa and is an old style museum relying on the quality of its exhibits. This is not a problem in this case, as the museum houses plenty of excellent items from the ruins of Itálica and other sites near to Seville. There are some fantastic mosaics and statues. Well worth the visit and free to EU nationals.‬

‪Excellent. Well-organized.‬

‪The Museo Arqueologico is a little bit out of the way in th gardens that were built for the World Fair. It is well worth the visit, however. Magnificent exhibits, well-organized and reasonably captioned, give a comprehensive tour and a fuller understanding of this part of Spain.‬

‪Superb museum of ancient Seville‬
נוב׳ 2019
‪By all means, do not miss this spectacular museum of underground ancient archaeology. It is superb, and it is located below the Metropol Parasol, a feat of post-modern architecture.‬

‪If you want to avoid the crowds go here as on a Saturday afternoon there was only one other person there. Free to enter if from EU. Lots and lots of rooms with Roman, statues, mosaics etc. Lovely little bronzes and clay figures. I wandered round and just stopped to look at things I was interested in. Downstairs pre-history section. The Carombolo collection is upstairs - this might only be accessible by the lift as I couldn't find any stairs. No cafe or gift shop.‬

‪Interesting museum ‬

‪Well worth a visit explaining the long history of this part of Spain. Whilst I thought Seville was Roman in origin the museum explains it's history up to the Roman arrival and fall. Fascinating and Full of artefacts. Narrative is in English, although not all artefacts are. Nonetheless well worth a visit. ‬

‪Among the best museums of Roman and prehistory in europe‬
משפחה • אוג׳ 2019
‪Excellent museum. Really good range of artefacts cleverly and clearly displayed and explained. Quality of statues and mosaics from Italica really good but also the pre historic treasures. A good size to be able to explore and understand the periods. Clever intro display in each section gives good overview of how people lived so one can then understand the context of the other displays. Even a Roman theatre is laid out via the statues among a drawn backdrop. My teenage daughters really enjoyed it. Easier to get a feel for Roman life than in the British museum. Can spend 1-2 hours. And it’s free for EU citizens.‬

‪Great collection of artifacts‬
משפחה • יוני 2019
‪We visited the Archaeological Museum as part of a visit to see the Plaza de Espana... it's only another 15 or so minute walk through the lovely park. The museum is inexpensive and worth a visit... it's got a great collection of artifacts, including some very ancient ones in the basement. (Look carefully for that sign... we only stumbled upon it when we went looking for the restrooms, and I'm glad we didn't miss it.) Most of the signage is only in Spanish, but the artifacts themselves often speak for themselves.‬

‪Rich extensive collections, but presentation and museography becoming dated‬
משפחה • אוג׳ 2018
‪Many rooms and galleries. Many beautiful pieces, statues, fragments of big monuments, mosaics, familiar and common life objects, tools and utensils.
Visit of the museum is essential after ( or before) visiting the splendid ruins of Italica, just 6 km from Sevilla, easy to reach by bus or with your car.
You can realize how big and important were HIspania and antic cities of that area in relation to the Roman Empire.
You can also realize that this empire did not know modern ills of xenophobia or racism. At least two spanish prominent citizens could achieve becoming emperors. And if we look further on, other citizens could reach the same honours, being from Africa, Arab, Gaul, Dalmatia, Asia...
Museography, the way of presentation, severals boards and notices should deserve a little renewal.‬
