Well I went here on a pinxtos tour and there was a French man on...who reluctantly admitted that the Spanish can cook duck better....sacre bleu😂! But in all honesty it was an absolute belter of a dish one of the best duck dishes I've had and the pineapple accompaniment was pure culinary genius.

Great experience and a lot of fun! Had a really nice tasting red wine, a Ribera del Duero for 3.5€. We had a tuna topped with perfectly seared foie gras! It was outstanding. We also had several fish items including sardines, cod and octopus. All were so good. Service was really friendly and helpful as this was our first night in town and new to the experience. Highly recommend!

We stumbled across this place by accident and initially were attracted by the lack of bread in the portions. The food was delicious and I would heartily recommend it. The pluma iberico was particularly delicious , but it was all great.

We loved Astelena Bar - they have no shortage of yummy pintxos both that you can pick from the bar and order off the menu.
We loved the tuna with foie gras. The staff are helpful and we were lucky to grab a seat both times we visited.

Visited twice in our 4 day stay. Food is fabulous, lots of variety in the pintxos and food to order was tasty. We just found the girls working the second time were off the mark with us and two other couples. Still it is too delicious not to try. Maybe just a bad day!

We made the mistake of ordering something other than the Solomillo (Steak and chips), because there's was loads of them rolling out of the kitchen, and they looked great for €4.30. But we ordered a 'plate' of boquerone (which equalled about 8 fish), and some calamares (which were overbattered and dry). Both were too expensive for what they were (€12 and €10). Don't make our mistake. Stick to the steak!

This place serves very good tasty pintxos. Our favorite are "calamares" ( very tender), "pimentos de Padron", "croquetas de jamon" and "txipirones". Rather fatty but very tasty !

The waiters are miserable, one spilt a full glass of red wine over a customer and was not particularly apologetic.
The food is ok but not great.

Awesome place with amazing food. Great recommendations from the staff and wonderful Txakoli - great atmosphere. The steak was out of this world.

We came here for our last lunch in San Sebastian. It is quite a small bar – seemingly popular with the locals, although they have quite a large seating area outside in the square. As it had been raining, and was quite cold, we sat in the bar. They have a good selection of food, most of which is prepared to order. We started with a seafood salad, then calamari and more seafood in a scallop shell. It was all good and reasonably priced.
