‪Interesting more for the ruins of the baths than for the art, which is better displayed elsewhere. Get the combination ticket and see it when you visit Palazzo Massimo across the street.‬

‪As mentioned with my other review of The Palazzo Massimo which is just across the road, it is not worth the full entry price as many exhibits are closed. This museum has indoor and outdoor exhibits that many of them are just blocks and incomplete sculptures. Not trying to be supercritical, but there are better pieces in other museums in Italy. Most impressive thing about this museum is the Basilica that was built over the area. The incredibly thick walls and massive brickwork are impressive to behold.‬

‪This is what I love about Rome. I just went for a wander from Termini station, and stumbled across this building with its 4th-century Roman baths!‬

‪This is a wonderful musum hosted in the ancient baths of Diocletian. The museum has beautiful statues and inscriptions but the remains of the baths is what steals the show: huge spaces, perfectly preserved, mosaics, cloisters and a pleasant front garden. We visited with two kids of primary school age and it was perfect: enough to see and get excited about but not overwhelming. Good info panels in most of the rooms/area. Advance booking necessary, easily done online on the official museum web page - there are allocated time slots to avoid lines and crowds. Don’t miss the church in part of the baths - you access it from around the corner and it is beautiful + truly completes the visit‬

‪It's surprising that this museum isn't busier than it is - plenty to look at and a beautiful garden in the centre to relax in, without the crowds found in other parts of the city. Of great historical interest and a good place to spend a few hours, it is next to Rome Termini station so handy for travellers looking to while away some time.‬

‪We visited the Baths of Diocletian specifically to see this exhibition. We have visited countless art and archeological exhibitions and I can honestly say that this must be the most disappointing.
Exhibits were mostly lumps of stone and very few items such as jewellery or leather and woodwork which might have had some interest if only to admire the workmanship.
The labels identifying each item were mostly placed so low you had to bend double to see them, not good for the oldies.
And if you could see the label you could not read it due to the abysmally low light levels.
Don't waste your time and money .

‪The baths themselves are worth a look for their scale. It would be on my top 10 things to see in Rome.

Some of the museum exhibits are ok but A lot of funeral related stuff in grounds which after a while becomes a bit meh.‬

‪Visited in January, bought a multi-site ticket for the entire museum system across the street at the Palazzo Massimo. By mistake, the cashier printed us single-site tickets, and not being a native speaker of Italian, I misunderstood the note on the back of the ticket.

When we visited the Baths, a young woman at the counter explained that we had the wrong ticket. I bought another single-site ticket, figuring I'd made a simple mistake, but as we entered the museum I realized I had been given a brochure for the multi-site system, which would help to show what had happened.

The museum was not busy, in fact there was nobody there, so I went back to politely ask what I should do next. An older woman ran over and interrupted us, and began ranting and raving, repeatedly demanding to know what was going on but refusing to let me finish a sentence while yelling that I wasn't "letting her speak".

Disgusted, we left and went back across the street. The cashier at the Palazzo Massimo understood immediately and apologized profusely, but said he couldn't do anything because the two museums operated separate payment systems.

I reached out to the Baths through Facebook and pointed out that there were many, many reviews complaining about a woman hurling abuse at them and that I would be satisfied with having my credit card adjusted to reflect the cost of the multi-site ticket I'd wanted, rather than the higher total cost of two single-site tickets. We were told to contact CoopCulture (which never replied) and then the museum deleted the bad reviews. Yikes. The Facebook page has since been removed and this site is now apparently represented by the Museo Nazionale's main page, but I see from TripAdvisor that at least two people have clearly written reviews about the same woman this year.

This was the only negative experience we had in Rome. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this museum due to the vile staff and the dishonesty in handling our customer service request.‬

Dear Customer, we are sorry for the incident and we apologize for the rudeness of the staff. Unfortunately the ticket office staff does not directly depend on the Roman National Museum, but on Coopculture, the concessionaire for ticketing and bookshop services, so we invite you to contact Coopculture again by sending an email to report the incident to the address: roma@coopculture.it or info@coopculture.it. Related to the Facebook page, since the Roman National Museum is made up of four sites that form a single institute, it was decided to unify all the pages under the name of the National Roman Museum, where you can leave a comment. Finally, since your report concerns an episode that took place about 11 months ago, today it is not possible to intervene decisively, as the ticket office staff is not always the same, and it is not excluded that the person that you reported still work at the museum. However, we thank you for reporting and we apologize for the inconvenience. We invite you to visit the other sites of the Museum, Palazzo Altemps and Crypta Balbi, which will not disappoint you. Sincerely, the Museum Staff
