Excellent concert venue

La Sala Verdi in the Conservatory is one of the best concert venues in Milan. The building itself is worth to visit as a former monastry. They have a very busy concert calender.

Worth a look

If you've been visiting the Chiesa di Santa Maria della Passione, then you should have a look into the court yard of the Conservatorio next door. There's a guard at the gate, but I had no problem sneeking into the court yard although I wasn't attending any consert. There building itsel is very nice and there's some art work in the middle of the yard. Standing there you can also hear students parctising different instruments in different class rooms of the Conservatoriao.

While there were no concert tickets available during our visit in Milan, we were able to enjoy the cloister-like inner courtyard of the place, with its unique architecture and alien-like statue.

Performances by this private orchestar. Such a great NY concert, Beethoven's 9th! Make sure you book ahead, I try to see them every time I visit!

I wanted to see the Mozart papers in the library. It was really hard to find in all the websites I looked at when it was open. I finally find one that said it was open until noon on Saturday. We walked a very long way to get there only to find out it was closed.
