‪This statue is on front of a large hotel and represents some scene from a famous opera. Regrettably it as been left to rot and neads repairing. ‬

‪The fountain lies in Piazza Verga, named after the writer of the novel Malavoglia, in front of the tribunal. The architecture of the entire square still hints to a mix of early fascist architecture mixed with large residential developments from the 70s. The beautiful fountain offers a moment of historical reconciliation for the people passing by. The simple geometry of the sculpted sinking boat contrast the tragedy behind the plot enveloping the destiny of family.
