‪Charming private museum to visit‬
יולי 2019
‪I was visiting Dordrecht for the first time and we decided just to spend a few hours walking around the historic city centre and the quay side. We came across the Patricierhuis by accident on the walk back to the station and were pleased to have visited it. It was built in 1649, and is not a classic museum, with lots of exhibit pieces Rather it is an insight into how the wealthy lived in those times and since. The video introduction, which you are encouraged to watch as a starting point, is very illuminating you should definitely spend the time to watch it at the beginning. The staff were very friendly & helpful in giving you further information if required.

One point of caution if you have mobility issues the stairs are very steep and, and of course there is no lift – that would not be possible.

An interesting point that emerged from the video was that the owner actually lived in the house with his family until relatively recently and the children talk about their times in the house. He is now restoring it as closely as possible to it clear splendor – but what an opportunity they had to live in such a unique piece of history.‬

‪Beautiful spot on the river‬

‪The house still breethes the atmosphere of hundreds years ago. It shows some foreign influences in Dordrecht, such as the Napoleon time, Swedish clothes, English tea attributes etc.
The room overlooking the socalled '3 river point' is breathtaking; you can still lie on the coach and feel yourselve a true dandy...‬

‪A real tourist gem, a beautiful view on history of Dordrecht‬
חברים • יוני 2018
‪Open: woensdag tot en met zondag van 13.00 uur tot 17.00 uur.

Worth the wait or the detour when you are exploring this great old part of Dordrecht. The people working there are very happy to tell you all about this house and its history. In the attic there is a video stream, which is translated in English. Watch it before you explore the rest of the house.‬

‪if you have to choose: go to Huis van Gijn‬

‪If you want to see one or the other, you should definately go to 'Huis van Gijn' as a very elaborate and beautifully furnished house of the old merchant and bankers era. The Dordts Patriciërshuis is okay to visit and has a nice 'oval room' that people can eat/drink in.‬

‪Lovely building with some interesting features‬

‪Fine house rescued from delapidation. Furnishing appropriate, but not original. Decoration well maintained. Has a fashionable cafe. Only just worth the entrance fee. You have to ring the door bell for admission, open from 1pm only.‬

‪A bit disappointing for me, not a must see.... only go here if you have time left.‬

‪the house is not very special... it doesn't have nice objects or special paintings.. The rooms didn't impress me much, just one room... the salon, had something appealing. It is round, it is partly hanging over the river and gives you a very nice view on one of the busiest rivers of the Netherlands. In this room you can get high tea.. and when I was there a large number of people did so.

In that sense you can come here for high tea/ book for high tea, but the museum itself is not worth going to despite the friendly and very helpfull staff.

If i hadn't had my museumcard I probably wouldn't have gone here.‬

‪Educational, interesting, history lesson, beautiful, need to buy a ticket, stairs no elevator. Perhaps a problem for elderly people. ‬
