‪Well worth a visit 3 Euros. This is a well organized collection of materials from Braga and the nearby Roman Bath and Theater. The collection contains some nice and unusual items like a Celtic helmet, gold Torcs and glassware.

There are VERY FEW labels. Instead, information would come from a purchased booklet. This is a weakness of the museum.

The museum is four rooms, one of which is an underground room with a large mosaic floor.‬

‪Very nice museum with 4 exhibitions rooms where you can see the archaeological findings from the area and find out more about the Roman settlement. The gentleman at the desk was very very kind. The mosaic is quite degraded unfortunately‬

‪My partner and I visited this museum after a trip to the tourism centre in central Braga. It costs €3 per person for entry with a range of discounts provided for students and over 60s. The price was very reasonable for what lay within. The museum had numerous interesting artifacts about Roman Braga. It provides an undeniable oust of culture and history to provide an insight into the significance of Roman Braga. More information on the exhibits would have been desirable but the lack of information can lead to historical predictions and hypotheses being made as you progress through the exhibits. The staff were amazing and had a wealth of knowledge, if any questions were had. Definitely worth a visit. ‬

‪Museu D. Diogo de Sousa is quite a nice museum . It is actually built in the centre of what used to be the Roman City of Bracara Augusta, that is ancient Braga! There are even some original objects and other major artifacts dating from that time. You probably will not find the wealth of exhibits and accompanying information that you would come across other major museums, but that is something that might get fixed in the future, hopefully. The artifacts displayed are quite interesting but much more detailed and accessible information would help the visitors. The Cafeteria is good with a wide choice of offerings and reasonable prices.‬

‪I'm one of those who believe that museums ought to be free. I was told this was but it wasn't. I have no special interest nor do I have sufficient understanding to warrant paying to go in. There are some parts which are open to non-paying visitors, but they didn't do anything for me, nor did the building itself. What was more interesting was the commemorative structure just before the museum, titled "Movimento Perpétuo", which I supposed was influenced by the ancient arches of the city. See photo.‬

‪The building is nice and the collection is also very interesting but it really seems it's abandoned by the authorities. Lack of information, the way they display the information it's not very friendly for a regular visitor. Also, the roman tiles are in a really bad shape, full of humidity. They really need to have more support. ‬

‪Lover of archaeology and Im Disappointed with this one. Lack of information is so frustrating even though it has cool and interesting objects.‬

‪Braga is a city of beautiful architecture and design...how could its newest museum be such a poorly designed mess? The approach is so ugly and unwelcoming. Tiny display cases with even tinier type line the entryways. The mosaic house is in an unmarked location our friends missed. .we only saw it because a guide saw us entering an off-limits space (with a wide open door) and redirected us. Many unlabeled display cases.‬

‪The museum is a little bit out of the town centre but is walkable c. 1km. The outside and layout is kind of modernist in intention. After getting your ticket you walk down a long corridor to the first rooms but I found the articles on the walls too small to read properly even squatting down a bit. The thrust of the modern is reflected in the minimalist explanations and designation of artefacts. The artefacts though are pretty good. However it would be nice to have had some explanation of the roman inscriptions of the stone plinths which were impressive. There are small guide notebooks on each floor but I could only find one (I was alone in the museum) but again had a real problem working out a) what exhibits they referred to and b) disappointed at the absence of any further explanations or background to the exhibits which was a shame as some were worthy. I only found out about the outside access to the roman ruins of a house by asking at reception whether I had missed anything. Similarly I had to ask where one of the key exhibits was (blue decorated silver saucer) and had to return and squat down to admire its beauty. It is a good museum but is let down mainly by the absence of background and explanations on what are in fact good displays. Didn't try the cafe as I was the only one there and it didn't seem to be open.Perhaps bad timing.‬

‪I am tempted to recall the old advertising for the V&A in London: "Ace cafe with quite a good museum attached". The museum is more than quite good (as is the V&A!) and had some particularly good models of Roman life in Portugal. The cafe was clearly a place patronised by locals and who could blame them! For 6.50 euros the lunch was many courses long with tasty hot dishes and wine or other drinks included. If one dessert wasn't enough, there was a baking tray of baked apples (delicious) for seconds.‬
