‪Worth the small detour‬

‪A museum about an amazing couple (Greek Sikelianos and Eva Palmer from NY city) with a vision to revive the Delfi ancient processions and to found a university in the beginning of the 20tj century. Surprisingly open minded for their times both on a personal and a cultural level. The museum is lovely and the women working there were pleasantly surprised from our visit and were more than happy to talk about A. Sikelianos's feat. The villa that hosts the museum is also very pretty.‬

‪Quaint cemetery but nothing special‬

‪I ended up there by mistake. There's a nice little park and a very nice view of Athena's Temple and Gymnasium but really no reason to go out of your way to see it.‬

‪Very close to Delphi, so it is not a bad idea to visit only if you have spare time. However, if your plans include other places that you prefer, then it can be left out.‬

‪Homage to a Great Man‬
זוגות • יולי 2014
‪Sikelianos was a poet who apart from having written beatiful inspiring poetry also was a man of great ideals which he tried to put into action. So as a Greek i felt it as homage to a great man to visit his house. Unfortunately though the municipality of Delphi doesnt consider it worthy not even of a single employee! Such a shame.... Although the timetable on on the door is 8-15 all days except Tuesdays and Wednesdays it actually works by appointment! So in order to see the museum it is best that you call the day before and inform them that you plan to go so that someone is there to open it. (tel 22650-82175) We had to go twice because the first time we called the man with the key was out of Delphi and couldnt come(!). The museum is in a beautiful spot overlooking the ancient grove of Amfissa. It is a nice walk to get there. Inside, interesting exhibits though many are missing for restoration. Overall the feeling was that this place could be a gem if cared for properly.‬

‪A hidden treasure, and often not open‬

‪You may need to call the phone number written at the gate. Someone will come to open for you. This is a little known chapter in the history of Delphoi that will ink in some colors into the blank spaces. To get there, walk toward the upper levels of Delphoi town at some stairs by the crossroads where there is a sign for the museum. Great stroll, and worthwhile sidetrip.‬
