‪I actually loved it! Had a very nice afternoon in the museum. Started with a coffee in the Café and then spent about 2h exploring the art exhibition. My favorites were the entirely white room, the smell exhibit and all the interactive bits (create four images based on four songs you listen to while drawing, create a chimera etc). I was mostly exploring entirely on my own, which gave the whole experience a very special atmosphere. I also enjoyed being able to peek into the collection (paintings not being exhibited).
The staff was very kind and helpful. Thanks for a very pleasant afternoon, I can only recommend any and all art lovers to go.‬

‪Rude service at the desk, bad lighting of the works, the few signs that are there tell you what you cannot do. The art work is meh without much tying it all together. Only worth it if you’re really looking for some time to kill, otherwise recommend a hard pass. ‬

‪I've never been in a museum where you had to go up to the second level, all the way across, and back down to get to the final rooms and the sculpture garden, and then to REPEAT the process to get out even though there are glass (but locked) doors in the garden. That said, it was filled with thought provoking art for such a small facility. I loved the "research" room with dozens of slide out walls with pictures hung salon style -- fun to slide art out of a wall!‬

‪I went to the museum with the children. Firstly, the place seemed empty. It was rather empty. When we got in, the ticket seller was so engrossed in conversation with another person, that they did not serve us and we just walked in without buying a ticket after waiting 5 minutes. The exhibition was not too clearly signposted and half the building seemed unused. The exhibition was fine (not spectacular) Not worth getting out of bed for really.‬

‪The Esbjerg Art Museum is fun, well-rounded museum that people of all ages and art experience can enjoy. For the learned, the museum is constantly experimenting with new ways to see, feel, and experience art. Their exhibitions featuring artists from all over the world always show the works in interesting ways, making Esbjerg Art Museum unique compared to most other classical art institutions.
The museum has an extensive collection, shown in the permanent exhibition and the convient pull-out library (Open Stores) downstairs containing a vast history of artworks preserved and stored at the museum.

For the kids (and adults), downstairs next to the Open Stores, there are many fun and interesting experiments and interactive pieces that can give you something to think about when looking at art. They are artworks in themselves

Lastly, there is a nice little gif shop with cool gadgets, accessories, books, and handiwork. They also serve an excellent cup of coffee, which i prefer to enjoy in their beautiful sculpture garden.

In short, Esbjerg Art museum is a must see location for art buffs, families, or anyone visiting Denmark. Don't miss it!‬

‪I guess it depends on who or what is exibiting but from our viewpoint on the day not very exciting. On entering the museum it was also really far to warm ...in the middel of winter, quite uncomfortable and not conducive to a relaxed stroll around to appreciate the exhibits.‬

‪Esbjerg Kunstmuseum punches above it's weight - it's an excellent contemporary art museum in a small city. (Having oil money rushing through the local economy helps.) Don't miss the 'Feel Before You See' exhibit on the basement floor - you stick your hand through a hole and feel a variety of sculptures before you open the trap door to see them - or the great pull-out library of otherwise unseen paintings from the museum's collection. Check out the gift shop, too. It sells handiwork from local artisans. ‬

‪We are still not sure about this one. The building is part of a newish performing arts center and done by the man responsible for the Sydney Opera House it is impressive but not really awe inspiring. It's interesting but a little puzzling. The Museum sort of wanders off to one side. The most unusual aspect is the Art Storage Drawers in the basement. Since most of the collection can't be hung, it's here, in long retractable drawers. Arranged in order of acquisition rather than genre we found it confusing and got about half through it and gave up.‬

‪This museum is one of my favorites in the world...maybe it is sentimental attachment, but I never tire of going here and walking the familiar halls. Esbjerg isn't as charming as it used to be, but if you do find yourself there, the art museum should be a must-see‬
