‪There are places to bathe in sulfur springs all over this area west of the town of Viterbo. Some you pay, some you just walk into. Bullicame is one of the unmanned areas. I'll post picks of another set of natural pools just to the west of Bullicame, it's circled in red. Free, lots of parking under trees, lots of local characters in these hot springs. Fun, fun, fun! Sunbathing, sweet people, watch in initial spring, it is scalding hot! However, as it trickles down through the pools the temp is perfect. It is un-kept, feels a bit dirty around the springs.‬

‪Its not the place you are looking for take a bath. Hot spring nothing more but noce, quite and free. Poorly maintained environment, only a pool provided by a mix of thermal water and common water.It was a shame though if it was taken care of it would be lovely. There is a bus service from viterbo station but if you miss it you need to walk like 3.7km from viterbo to terme.‬

‪Interesting ' natural' thermal pools‬

‪Plenty of parking at this place, no facilities at all, but we were prepared for this. The top pool is fenced off and the water that runs from this one is super hot! There are a few pools, lovely and warm. Most pools have a small, underwater shelf to sit on. The water is a bit murky. Most pools are shallow, you can just about float. Well worth a short visit!‬

‪I love hot terme in natural surrounding by fresh air. This place is only for local pp who live in the area nearby not tourists who has a bit of expectation.

Buy if who are not care much about veiw and surrounding. It is ok just hot water to release your tention.

‪I have to say that I am glad there is some supervision and dogs are not around. These pools just looked too stagnant. I am sure they are clean every day, but after San phillipo and Il Molino, they just did not appeal.‬

‪One of the best things to do for free in all Italy‬

‪I shouldn't be raving about this place or you'll all turn up and spoil its peace and serenity, but Lazio's free hot springs have been one of my favourite things to discover since moving here and Bullicame is my pick of them all, so far. What is it? A fenced enclosure (to keep out the animals) with two manmade pools (one 'hot bath' temperature, the other cooler) fed by a natural volcanic spring. The water is minerally and the soil chalky clay. Plenty of free parking beside the road and abundant shade for picnicking in summer. The downsides? You will need a car (or a lot of patience and a 6th sense for Italian buses) to get there. There is an attendant during the day and a single portaloo: but it's not well tended so best plan on only going for a couple of hours. Tips for a great day: bring drinking water and snacks, flipflops for walking around and two towells: one to sit on (which will get chalky) and one for drying yourself off. And have a lovely time!‬

‪Takes 10 minutes walk from "Terme di Papi". I got there by bus No.2 from centre of Viterbo old city. There is no facility; even locker, toilet, shower and roof, but it's free and open every time everyday. Very very nice and enjoyable.‬

‪I found out about this place from a Dante class (canto XIV, line 68) in case you're interested, where Dante describes a stream similar to the one issuing from Bullicame that enters the 3rd level of hell. Since it's not that far from Civitavecchia, we reserved a car and went. We didn't bathe there as it was almost November and the air temp was 58. But several people were and enjoying it.

The pools are surrounded by white clay so the water is a lovely blue and the whole park looks nice. The lower pool was cool. The upper pool was pleasantly warm. The source was boiling up from the center and exited the glass enclosure at a hot temperature.‬
