‪Love the North Sea smell and cosiness ‬
זוגות • מאי 2019
‪The trip was a surprise arranged by my husband. I've always wanted to go to Helgoland. We saw a lot of seals at the shore of Düne. You can take a boat from the mainland to Düne for 5 euro round trip. Next time we go, I would like to camp at Düne.
The mainland is also very nice to stroll around. We walked to Länge Anna and were stunned by the amount of birds flying around. They have blue eyes! Love Helgoland! ❤️ ‬

‪Clifftop Walk‬
יוני 2018
‪Easy 1 -2 hour clifftop walk to complete a circular route from the town/port side to Lange Anna and back along both sides of the island. Easy to get a complete picture of the scope of Helgoland both inhabited residential areas, the raw natural landscape, and densely packed bird colonies. Very rewarding on a sunny day. However, that's really ALL there is worth doing here :)!‬

‪Middle of nowhere such a beautiful island‬

‪You have to take a ferny from Cuxhaven to reach this place, after the world war this island was bombarded and we can see the holes of the impact of the bomb,
Human disaster, but hats off to our friends in Helgolander to reconstruct and rebuild the whole island in a short period and make it as a beautiful tourist attraction.‬

‪Dune a *must visit* !!‬
זוגות • אוג׳ 2017
‪Helgoland was divided around 1720/1721 by a storm after which the 0.7 square km large, island Dune arose, which is to reach with the frequent sailing persons ferry * White Cliff * in approximately 7 minutes. It is surrounded by beach for three quarters and forms the habitat of a large colony of ordinary seals as well as a smaller colony of grey, or cone- seals. For the colony ordinary seals should be walked from the ferry jetty to the right-hand beach, while the cone seals prefer the left (FKK) beach (08/17) The animals may be approached up to 30 meters and are at that distance very good to observer and digital capture. A visit to Helgoland is not complete without a visit to Dune!!‬

‪Of the Sun,the Sand & the Seals at the Düne-Helgoland‬
משפחה • יוני 2016
‪Your visit to Helgoland is incomplete without making a visit to the Düne Island 15 minutes away from Helgoland by boat. There are boats leaving from the harbour every half hour from 9.00am to 5.00pm for the Düne & tickets are priced at 5 Euros a head. After 5.00pm the frequency of the boats dwindle to every hour on the hour till 9.00pm or 10.00pm being the last one back to Helgoland.

There is hardly any sign of anyone living on the Düne! There is a cluster of pretty, colourful cottages which look like holiday homes & on this visit we did see a couple of families with children going into these cottages.

The island itself is very small & you can walk almost all around it in two hours! Depending on the weather & sunshine you can see hundreds of seals basking in the sun on the shore, close to the waters edge. There are sign boards requesting people to keep a distance of at least 30mts from the seals. The lady at the reception of our hotel informed us that on that particular day all the seals were on the Southern shore of the island. The soft fine white sands, the blue water & the antics of the seals keep you mesmerised.

Remember to take your cameras along & also jackets & scarfs because the cold winds can be cruel! There are a couple of restaurants on the North & South shore where you can sit & relax or hire their beach boxes & bask in the sun.‬

‪Seals on Düne‬
חברים • מאי 2014
‪The archipelago consists of two islands, the main Island Helgoland and smaller Düne (the Dune). The populated Helgoland is the place where you can observe seabirds. The earless seals lounge around on sandy beaches of Düne. The small ferryboat cruises between the two islands every half an hour. Accommodation possibilities are limited on the Düne. There are a few bungalows and a small campsite on the small island but zou can use many guest houses and small hotels on the Helgoland. The islands are accesible either by ships from ports on the north-west german coast or by a small plane (an airstrip on the Düne).‬
