‪We spent about 90 minutes at the Tuaran Crocodile Farm. It’s an usual entry with stuffed crocodiles used as props ie. wearing boots and gloves and doing a range of other human related activities - riding a jet ski. Into the exhibit itself and it is a bit of a mixed bag as u wander through enclosures containing snakes, rabbits, birds, fish, deer, otters. Some of the enclosures were very well maintained but others appeared neglected and in need of attention...the fluorescent green catfish pond was one and the snake enclosure the other. Onto the crocodile exhibition and we happened to catch the ‘show’. I have nothing but admiration for the two handlers getting that close to these huge animals but i left feeling very sorry for the two crocodiles who were constantly poked and prodded to do what was required of them to entertain the visitors. Our visit reminded me that these farms (zoos) do have an important part in helping protect the species (and this farm is doing this) but it also reminded me that forcing animals to undertake such acts for entertainment is not right. To the farm: Please think about dropping the show and spend more time telling the visitors about the crocodiles themselves and the part your playing in their conservation efforts in Borneo...! Market it accordingly and the tourists will come. Price: r30 per adult and r20 for a child (4yrs). Then u can pay r1 to hold a baby crocodile and food for the fish and crocodiles is r2.‬

‪The access road was not paved. Very high entrance fee for very few shows. Animals were not properly taken care off by looking at where they were kept.‬

‪The place is very nice and clean.
Recommended for family with kids to visit, but the fee is pricy even for local.‬

‪Very cruel‬

‪This was a terrible experience for myself and the three children. My daughter left crying, she was so saddened by the conditions that the animal had to live in. The crocodiles have very little space to move around, the shows are awful to witness, sedated crocs being prodded and poked.

We we very upset to see otters in a very small enclosure with nothing to eat and nothing to amuse them. They were making a very distressing nose and seemed to be very anxious and agitated. Next to this was a pen with a large male deer that was rutting against a wire fence which had loose wires sticking out that had cut his eye. Is enclosure was also very small and badly kept. He was clearly very distressed and desperate to get out.

It was heartbreaking to see these animals in such poor conditions. I urge you to avoid the place. Do not give them you money to allow them to commit terrible acts of cruelty on these poor animal.‬

‪Large number of crocodiles not in the best conditions‬
לבד • אפר׳ 2019
‪It took a long time to get to Tuaran from KK due to traffic. Made it just in time for the show. Show was 15 minutes long and similar to shows in places like Thailand. Conditions for crocodiles is not the best as some have little room to move around. Feeding time is interesting to see whole chickens being fed to the crocodiles. Can also have picture taken with baby crocodile.‬

‪Rundown and possibly animal cruelty‬

‪Luckily my children are not old enough to understand the sadness of this place as it is run down and signposting is almost non-existing. We came well on time for the feeding at Pond A at 11.30 but nothing was going on for 15min. As there is no staff anywhere we had to walk back to the reception to ask about the feeding. (they claimed that it had already happened, after the crocodile show at 11 that we missed (for better or worse in retrospect) On the upside they put on a private feeding for us and the others who had waited for it. The feeding is literally the staff throwing down (dead) chickens into the pond to the crocodiles that sometimes catch the bird or it then just floats around. Staff said they had 100 crocodiles in Pond A, not being a reptile expert I can of course not make any professional claim that this pond is enough for all these large beasts. But my common sense tells me it is to many in such a small pond.

Save your ringits don't go here!‬

‪Bring my children to Crocodile Farm on school holiday. Beside crocodiles, there are still lots od animals like ostrich, deer, rabbit, turtle, butterfly and others inside the farm. Worth to come as my kids love it.
But pls wear hat because it is open air so weather is very hot.‬

‪We visited on a morning of a weekday during the Malaysian school holidays. There were very few visitors. The children (six of them) were fascinated with the crocodiles and especially with being able to hold a baby croc. Crocodile show was short and not very impressive. However, giving free crocodile teeth made the little ones very happy :)
Feeding the ostrich and fish were enjoyable time for them too. The best part was feeding the chubby rabbits and petting them at the same time.
The downside was the very dirty toilets and butterfly farm without butterflies!
Would recommend for little ones.‬

‪Disgusting and upsetting experience‬

‪I wish I had read reviews first but we dropped in on the spur of the moment. Please don’t go here. Please don’t support these people as though they’re doing the right thing when they so blatantly aren’t.

The place is totally run down, the enclosures are small and filthy and most of the animals are starved for either, or both, food and attention. The first things you see when you enter include 2 Reticulated pythons with so many retained sheds over their eyes that they are unable to see and a young Brahminy kite in a small cage who sidles up to the wire and doesn’t stop whistling the entire time anyone is near. There are fish ponds so thick with dirt and algae that you can’t see what sort of fish are in there, there’s a butterfly house where 5 of us managed to spot only a single butterfly. The crocodile pools are a thick, iridescent green and you can’t even see an inch into the water. The crocs are all lying around on concrete slabs as there is no softer surface available out of the water. The majority of the animals seem to have to rely on tourists buying bags of food to feed them so they all come crying to the front whenever a person approaches. It is absolutely heart-breaking to see and hear them.

I’m guessing they’ve had complaints before as each enclosure has a print out of what the animal needs and what is done for them. Just the state of the enclosures suggests that the whole list is a load of rubbish they’ve put up to try and stop people asking questions.

This place puts on a 10 minute crocodile “show” twice a day to a pre-recorded commentary which causes the crocodiles to tense up and sink under water when the music starts. We caught the afternoon show which they began by bashing the crocs on the head with a wooden stick to get them to rear up with their mouths open. Then they poked them in the sides until they moved out of their tiny pools onto concrete so slippery they couldn’t stand up properly where they were moved and manipulated and even stood on by the two “trainers”.

A horrible end to a beautiful day out in the surrounding areas.‬

‪Not great. It was just OK‬

‪We were staying at Rasa Ria and decided on a little something to do. Maybe would be better if we came when they had the croc show at 11am and 3pm. Nothing really exciting apart from getting to see some crocodiles.‬
