What a a beauty! I booked a day trip with a driver who took me there along with other areas
One of the prettiest blue water beach ever! I didn’t get to go down to the beach which I wish I did but the way down is a workout on its own . But you can clearly see everything from the top . Be ware of the monkeys around as they snatch phones and things etc. not really a big concern anyway but worth mentioning.

Visiting Kelingking Beach was an unforgettable experience. The breathtaking T-Rex-shaped cliff and turquoise waters create a surreal view. The hike down is steep and challenging, but the reward is a secluded, pristine beach with dramatic waves. Watching the sunset from the viewpoint was magical. It’s a must-visit spot in Nusa Penida, perfect for adventure seekers and nature lovers!

I visited Nusa Penida for a day trip, and the natural beauty of the island was absolutely breathtaking. Kelingking Beach and Diamond Beach were stunning, with incredible views and crystal-clear water. However, the island was extremely crowded, which made it difficult to fully enjoy the experience. The biggest downside was the road conditions—getting from one place to another took a long time due to the rough and poorly maintained roads. Nusa Penida is a beautiful destination, but improving transportation infrastructure would make the experience much better for visitors.

I enjoyed my visit of the viewpoint on our day trip to Nusa Penida. We were very lucky to get clear blue skies and the views from the top of the cliffs are just amazing.

This beach is gorgeous and if you’re in the area I highly recommend going at the start of the day because there are massive crowds otherwise. The trek down to the beach is for the brave and fit. Once you are past the trinket shops, there is no paved path. You literally hike down a very steep, narrow mountainside with poorly maintained handrails made of bamboo or trees. I also wouldn’t swim here and have no idea why any would recommend snorkeling. Maybe those who do went during a different time of year but be aware the surf and current is rough and not even the locals suggest swimming here. Absolutely stunning beach though please just be aware before you go.

My vacation to Bali and Nusa Penida was an unforgettable adventure. The natural beauty of Kelingking Beach and the surrounding areas left me in awe, and the sense of tranquility on the island was a welcome escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. While the island's infrastructure is still developing, its raw beauty and untouched landscapes make it a destination worth visiting.
If you're planning a trip to Bali, I highly recommend adding Nusa Penida and Kelingking Beach to your itinerary. Just be prepared for a bit of adventure and a lot of walking - but trust me, it's all worth it!

The Kelingking beach is about an hour's drive from the harbor. The roads to the harbor are narrow and broken at places, as are most roads in Nusa Penida. From the car park, there is a short walk through some shops to reach the path that leads down to the Beach.
The views from the top of the cliff are stunning, and you can clearly make out the T-Rex rock formation. It's worth taking a lot of pictures from here. Watch out for monkeys though! There's a steep path leading down to the Beach—try this out only if you are really adventurous!
There are a few stores selling souvenirs, water/juice, snacks, etc. There's also a money exchange outlet giving decent exchange rates.

Hi, just wondering if the walk can be done in thongs (flip flops) or sandals or would I need proper inclosed running shoes? or possibly sneakers okay? thanks

Hi!
I did it in Flipflops / Thongs but it’s definitely not recommendable! On the uphill I went barefoot which was ok. But proper shoes are a good choice here.

De weg is heel slecht of nog in aanleg. Taxi heeft de voorkeur over een scooter. Wegen zijn erg smal en gevaarlijk.

The sun is on the right side of the cliff after 12 noon. There many great spots to take a picture up and down the beach. Best time to take pictures before noontime

When we were there , a young man jumped in after warning,
after that he needed help to come out! I think not everybody thinks like that to help him after a warning but there are still good people. Lucky him!
You can swim maybe in the morning if there is not too much currents and keep in mind for any undercurrents which you can not see.

If we charter a private boat from Serangan harbour, can the dingy feasibly take us to shore on Kelingking beach?

You may get down from the top on your own but again it's a difficult task and will take 2hrs to complete the activity.

How dangerous is the hike down to the beach? Is it like cliffhanger or mountain climbing? Or is there a decent trail??

Hello, this not a very decent trail. You have to be careful in each step. But doable in about 2 hours and at times you descent is very steep and on boulders and mostly no hand rail to support. If you are careful and have a good pair of walking shoe with full grip, you will enjoy going down. Since you will find very few people taking the steps downward, you should go with few friends and not alone. But doable. Please carry water bottle with some glucose to give you energy during the climb.
