‪Small but interesting gallery‬

‪The exhibition was small but interesting. Would be great though if the staff were friendly and ready to answer questions. As a visitor to the museum I was made to feel uncomfortable for asking basic questions.‬

‪We spent an hour looking on two expositions there. Not much to see, but ok if you want a little bit of art during your stay in Pärnu. There is a small gift shop.‬

‪I went to the Museum of New Art specifically to see the photo exhibit of Kaupo Kikkas. For the seniors' rate of 2 euros, it was a great bargain. I think full adult price was 4 euros. After a few smaller rooms, one enters a wonderfully sunlit room that led to another large room with the exhibit. On a Sunday morning, there were no crowds. The exhibits will change over time, but for the price, a great place to visit.‬

‪A bit worn, but still has a kick in it‬

‪The Esplanade street Art museum has been there forever, at least in terms of Pärnu were things tend to change pretty fast. But not this place, it is still up and running after whatever challenges have been thrown at its existence. The only staff member I have seen there during my last few visits (usually weekends, though) is perhaps not the friendliest one in the world, but I have always managed to secure a ticket so actually it is OK.
The temporary exhibitions tend to be semi-international, often some Estonian new art mixed with some other European, sometimes world Art. Usually a realistic status statement on some niche art trend, totally enjoyable and a good option for a rainy day. I, for one, keep visiting as long as they let me in. Thanks to everybody supporting the Museum! ‬

‪The exhibition has one or two interesting artworks but the curating is very poor indeed. Where other museums have moved with the times this one definitely hasn’t.‬

‪The exhibition hall is old and not immpresive at all. I've been to much better shows. Not worth to pay 4 euros and waist your time.‬

‪The exhibition hall is the old(well fairly modern!) Communist HQ and has been sort of adapted. I've been to much better shows.‬

‪We have been visiting the Pärnu Museum of New Art for decades now, and it feels as if some new energy needs to be applied there. The building - appreciating it does not belong to the Museum - is not getting the level of maintenance it should, the interior design even if delibaretly having a post-soviet feel an touch actually distracts visitors from enjoying the very modern art in the exhibition rooms. Please accept my apologies for complaining, but we used to get better vibes from there in the past. ‬

‪nice small regional art museum; make sure you ask where exhibits are they pointed wrong way‬
משפחה • אוג׳ 2017
‪We went to this museum as we were walking around Parnu and looking for some activities and things to see and do and this was basically on our path. We paid our admission and asked which way to go. They pointed us in one direction which was some sort of permanent local art exhibit going up the stairs. It didn't seem like much of a museum.

Then at the last minute I walked through the small gift shop which led to a larger exhibit hall which had the Nude Art Exhibit (and any other exhibits they have I guess). Anyway that was a reasonable space for exhibiting art and the exhibit was a nice exhibit for a museum in a town like Parnu.‬

‪I am sure they do have a lot of interesring exibitons throughout the year but the one we went to was quite full of naked people and not much to see, just a few pieces were interesting. Anyway the price is realy cheap 2 euro for students and 4 for adults so one time visit is completely fine.‬

Hello! Thank you for review. You visited the 24th International Nude Art Exhibition MAN WOMAN AND THE SEA. The nude art exhibition of this summer in Pärnu, traditionally, focuses on the harmony of human body and soul. Every summer the exhibition has its sub-theme. Either expectations, dreams, aliens or something else trying to hit different tones in the relationships between men and women through various artistic interpretations. In connection with the expected 100th anniversary of our republic and our neighbouring countries Finland, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland the Museum of New Art pays more attention than ever to the art of the Baltic Sea countries. So our XXIV International Nude Art exhibition in 2017 is named MAN, WOMAN AND THE SEA. The Baltic Sea connects artists from nine countries and next to them we have invited guests from Iceland.
