‪Lovely church to visit after walking across to the other side of the ponte de lima.was a nice surprise to find the doors open on a weekday and got to go inside.the church looks bigger from the outside with the beautiful blue tiles and old clock tower yet inside seemed small and cosy .lovely to visit‬

‪As you walk across the Ponte Romana to the other side of the river the Santo Antonio church is worth a quick visit. The outside and inside of the church has some beautiful blue glazed tiles and the inside is basic but pretty.‬

‪We encountered this lovely church on the other side of the river. We enjoyed our walk on the Ponte de Lima Bridge that led us straight to this church.

Inside there is a painting Of Saint Antonio, as expected. Behind the altar is a huge monument that covers the whole wall with Saint Antonio in the middle. It’s built in the Gothic style, no doubt about it.

The pews are of wood, but were quite comfortable at the same time. It’s a typical Portuguese church. Quite lovely!

The church is very attractive from the outside, especially since it is located near the bridge. Its color is white and it has a an orange roof. it has a tower for its bells. The outside wall where the altar is located is different from the rest of the church. It has attractive blue tiles that bring out the beauty of this church.

I enjoyed my time admiring it. It was quite worthwhile!‬

‪This is a small church devoted to St. Anthony, who born in Lisbon. Situated at the end of a roman bridge in the river bank opposite the beautifull old city of "Ponte de Lima" in the Minho region, north of Portugal. Stays on the way to Santiago and have marvellous glazed tiles inside but also at its facade. ‬

‪Igreja de Santo António da Torre Velha .

This small church is located in Arcozelo who belongs to Ponte de Lima, and is on the other bank of the river Lima, when you are crossing the bridge to visit the Museum of Toy´s, it is just before you arrive on the museum.
They talk about the church already in the XVIII century, and she belongs to the lower part of Ponte de Lima.
Small and simple but nice to see.‬

‪On the way across the old roman bridge - worth dropping in for a few moments of quiet reflection before crossing the bridge for lunch at the Petiscas restaurant and a bottle of wine.‬

‪While visiting Ponte de Lima and crossing the famous Roman Bridge, you will find the beautiful "Igreja de Santo António da Torre Velha" (Church of St. Anthony of the Old Tower), built and rebuilt between the 18th and 19th centuries, in the baroc style. Its façade is covered with beautiful and traditional blue tiles, very caractheristic of the Portuguese architecture. The outstanding bell tower can be seen all over town. Enjoy!‬
