What an experience!
Definitely somewhere that will heighten all of your senses!
To be fair, there’s a lot to see - the stalls are much of the same; fake football shirts, designer goods, leather items, spices oils and jewellery, and the sellers are more than happy to show off what they have.
Make sure your haggling game is on point, and don’t be afraid to walk away - guaranteed someone else will sell you the same thing at the price you want further into the Souk!
There are sights, sounds, smells, tastes and things to touch galore - it’s not for everyone, and can be overwhelming.
It’s an idea to stick to one route as you go through the Souk, but make a note of which entrance you came in so you can figure out your bearings, as it’s way too easy to ‘get lost’.
Whilst this is a stop for some tours, the Souk is a regular marketplace for locals, and that’s exactly what you experience whilst you’re there.
I visited this Souk as part of a tour which took in two other attractions.

I very much enjoyed the souk but despite being quite worldly (I’d like to think so anyway) I managed to get scammed buying spices! Think I got a bit excited and lost my ability to count 😩
Anyway it’s a good place to spend a couple of hours, feels very authentic and worth a visit. Just have your wits about you when trying to buy anything!!!

I had a brilliant afternoon at the Souk. I asked the taxi to drop me at Gate 6 as this is near to leather stalls and clothes. I had no problem walking round the Souk on my own and was able to get several gifts for people back home. I had a freshly pressed pomegranate juice from one of the bicycle vendors, for 20 dirhams and bought the following: kaftans, leather bags, souvenirs and spices. Lots of colourful characters. Most vendors only take cash.

The souk is huge but its only good for food and spices. Not much else there. Fake perfumes and fake brand bags and tshirts. The only few good leather shops are on the left side from the main entrance

The souk is not the only one in Agadir, but it is the largest and a must for visiting if you are in the area.
The souq is popular with locals and holiday makers alike, and this is reflected in the variety of stalls and their wares. Beware of some stall holders trying to take advantage of you; do shop around in a number of stalls and ask what the ‘last price’ or ‘best price’ is. Starting prices for the same item can vary by 10x the amount!
There is so much to see. The smell of the herbs is a sense sensation. People are friendly and enjoy a bit of banter.

Visited as part of a cruise ship guided excursion. I had been looking forward to visiting the souk - but what a huge disappointment. Yes, it's very large and undercover from the heat BUT ... my wife and I thought it filthy and smelly. We had a 10 minute tour with our guide who then offered us 35 minutes to explore on our own before we had to rejoin the coach. To a man, everyone from the coach went immediately back to the coach. We had expected to be pestered but not to the actual extent that we were. It was almost intimidating. Cannot recommend, sorry.

It sells absolutely everything. Decide what you are willing to pay and barter. Great fun. Felt a bit apprehensive and everyone wants a bit of you at first but just say no and browse and enjoy.

A great market to visit with over 5,000 stalls you will not be disappointed. We were there for 3 1/2 hours, and only managed a small amount, there is everything from baby clothes, furniture, shoes, bags, hardware goods, furniture, food, pets! You name it, they have got it!
The replicas are really good quality but be sure to haggle on price. The people aren’t pushy and it is expected to haggle but be firm on the price you want to pay and you will get good deals! We certainly did, with buying suitcase to fit all our purchases in!
We went at least 50% - 60% below the price and always got the price event if it meant walking away they always come to you.
Overall a great market! You will not be disappointed by your visit and will want to go back for more.

hi my sister and i are going to agdir in nov ...im very familiar with turkey and have always felt safe...its our first time in morocco , any tips on keeping safe and things to do , we def want to go to the markets , any advice please many thanks

Keep money close to you, only take out what is necessary, preferably put it in a bum bag or pouch of some sort.
Don't give in to people asking you for money, they're on every corner!
Try to stick to long, light, flowy clothing to avoid being stared at.
Only call the yellow/orange taxis they're called grande I think, always talk the price before driving. Usually a taxi should be around 20dh from the city centre to any big tourist destination, if they overcharge you then get out, someone else will give it to you for this price.
Make sure if someone says 'im from your hotel' that you don't follow them. A lot of the time they're just trying to get money from you after they've seen your all inclusive wrist band. Often people will come up to you trying to take you to places as a helping hand but will expect a fee, you don't need to do this it's very easy to work your way around.
Chemists are everywhere if you require medication, you can even buy prescription medication (in the UK) over the counter here for a much cheaper price.
I never felt that unsafe in Agadir, all the locals are lovely and always willing to help.

From dawn to dask? 😁 But a lot of stalls open later, at 10 o' clock. Guess you should't have problems on Wednesday and Thursday. In islamic countries Friday is like Sunday in Europe.
In Morocco the french influence prevails and the shops remain closed on Sunday. Strangely enough, the souk stays closed on Monday. There are hundrets of stalls in the souk with the whole range of handcrafted as well as imported goods. If you like cooking I would recommend spices.

Sorry, I saw some ladies, not many, wearing modest swimwear. But it was hard to find shops for swimwear. Except near the hotels. But on the other hand I was not excactly looking for it.
Les parfums, qu'on peut acheter dans le souk, sont pas du tout chères. Ils sont bon pour la santé ?
