‪Lovely old houses, gardens , ponds , al ook back in history‬
לבד • יוני 2019
‪You can walk around in the beautiful gardens of some of these fading old beauties and feel another time. Ornamental ponds and statues around the old French houses, which are kept in good condition here and used as hotel rooms. ( there are many old houses around the town but some have fallen into disrepair) There is a cafe for refreshments, though rather shabby and the service is kind of sleepy., they do a great ginger tea. You can see the interior reception rooms of a house near the cafe, art deco furniture and a real retro atmosphere. Really worth a visit in Dalat if you like this kind of thing. I do! ‬

‪These are just a collection of private villas. Not really worth seeing and definitely not worth walking around. Was very disappointed with it.‬

‪Nice European villas built by the French ‬
חברים • דצמ׳ 2017
‪This is the area in Dalat where the French built their nice villas at the end of 19 century and the beginning of the 20 century . All in French architecture , very nicely preserved and became a touristic attraction.‬

‪Great but Rundown‬

‪I saw more of this than before because our company car 🚗 did the entire road. As a dedicated follower of 1920’s 30’s architecture I am grateful that these houses have remained albeit in a decaying state... several of them are straight out of a Frank Lloyd Wright drawing book‬

‪Tired and oppressive‬
אוק׳ 2016
‪This attraction is only worth a cursory look and really just offers an external view of a group of houses built during the French occupation. Most were not open for viewing at the time of my visit. The gardens are nothing special so the whole 'experience' took around 45 minutes. Seems to be a must see on most itineraries but I'm not sure why.‬

‪Period French Colonial Houses‬
לבד • יולי 2016
‪Back in the 1930's Da Lat... exploded with growth. Not only catering for the local French Governor etc..it catered for an exodus from Saigon... hence the colossal Railway station, far above local needs. I know a thing about Art Deco and Da Lat has it in abundance.... just look around it is everywhere, being a Buddhist, I hope my rebirth is here. The Station opened 1938 is in my TOP TEN in the World.‬

‪Just one reason the French really didn´t want to leave!‬

‪You will find in Dalat, more than in other places, huge cultural references to the French occupation. the quartier Français is well worth seeing as a curio of what was. Free entrance.‬

‪A bit disappointing and not very French‬
זוגות • נוב׳ 2016
‪A collection of large old houses on a large plot of land which were occupied by French government officials when France "ruled" Vietnam. Supposedly of French design but the resemblance is hard to identify except for the wooden shutters by the windows.

The buildings have now been purchased by a wealthy Vietnamese business man and are now used for tourist accommodation. The buildings and gardens have not been very well maintained so a bit of a disappointment.

I would give it a miss unless it is part of a full day tour of Da Lat and its scenic environment.‬
