This is our second tour of Israel with Shai. We have visited Jerusalem, Masada, Dead Sea, Akko, Hebron and Haifa together.
The best way of explaining Shai’s value add is that for our second trip, we checked he was available before we even booked our flights. We would have opted for different dates had he not been available.
Shai has an encyclopaedic knowledge of Israel’s history and politics but these tours aren’t dry- they’re peppered with colourful detail and unusual, engaging stories.
You never feel rushed or like you’re on a schedule and suddenly (as if by magic!!) you’re on a rooftop overlooking Jerusalem just as the call to prayer begins.
His tours are so seamless, you know they must have taken meticulous planning and yet it all feels relaxed and effortless.
He is nuanced, sensitive and deeply empathetic whilst talking you through Israel’s complexities.
His tours feel without agenda. No particular position is pushed on you and he is incredibly balanced in his approach.
We have done some tours on days with a high-temperature political climate and yet always felt completely safe and taken care of (as three young women travelling alone).
He is also enormous fun and very personable!
You won’t get a disappointing meal- he knows all the hidden treasures for amazing lunches that you’d walk straight by unless you knew to stop.
There is no question, however strange or stupid, that he isn’t able to provide thoughtful and fascinating answers to.
He has enriched our visits enormously and we can’t recommend him more enthusiastically!!!

My son and I spent a week with Shai and his team, through Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, Bet Lehem and the West Bank and throughout the Golan. Our experience was extraordinary, made so by Shai and his team's ability to share religious, geo-political, and cultural perspectives. Key to this team is their ability to bring deep, wide, and balanced context - be it Jewish, Palestinian Muslim, Christian, Druze and other - which helped us frame and re-frame history through the lenses of those who have - and continue to live it. And what's more, Shai is passionate about ensuring his clients have spectacular experiences and misses no detail. Restaurants in small villages? He knows them. Hotels in large ones? He knows them. And most of all, he is a wonderful, deeply thoughtful human. What a joy.

Shai is a fantastic tour guide. He's incredibly knowledgeable and charismatic, and he provides a balanced, objective description of Israel's history, culture and politics that brings many perspectives to bear. I appreciated his insights on an extremely complex situation, and I strongly recommend Shai to anyone seeking a tour of Israel.

Shai Goren was a fabulous tour guide for our group last week. He was very knowledgeable about complex topics and in the few cases where he didn’t know the answer to a question, he did his research and came back with an answer. He kept us on schedule (not easy with a large group) and was always professional and pleasant.

Shai is a masterful tour guide. He is extremely knowledgeable, explains complex concepts and situations in an objective manner, he is nice, and very funny. It was a pleasure to be with him for 5 days and I would DEFINITELY work with him again. Shai is great.

This was my second visit to Israel and it was one of the more meaningful experiences in my life and Shai is one of the main reasons why. Shai was able to give us an honest and balanced view of what is happening in the region from the history, to what is happening today with the government and elections, peace process, the different demographics, and how the map of Israel works. He also gave us incredible recommendations for restaurants and places of interest. I was able to eat some of the best food in the region and find some exclusive local made clothing for my wife and I. Shai has a passion for what he does and being on a tour with him is educational, meaningful, and a lot of fun. I would highly recommend anyone to tour Israel with Shai!

This was the most informative tour I have ever been on! Shai’s knowledge and insights of the region were unsurpassed. He provided context to the history helping understand the cultural and political current affairs. He provided a level headed approach to a very complex and emotional situation. I greatly appreciated his insights on extremely complex issues. In addition, he was funny and kind making the trip even more fun!

I was a bit apprehensive traveling to the region due to notices from the US State Department of unrest. Having not traveled to the Middle East before, Shai's knowledge about the region, the history of conflict and theological explanations of various religions, not only put me at ease, but helped me enjoy our tour. I felt we received a top notch tour that included not only "what" happened, but the "why." I toured with a group of clergy (both Christian and Jewish) and we felt Shai's care for facts and details helped us grasp the richness of the culture and the complexity of current political conflicts. I am HIGHLY recommending Shai to anyone wanting to have a thorough tour of the region.
