‪Lovely fortress ‬

‪Beautiful old fortress with a museum inside. 10 dinars entry fee. Sadly I couldn't find the way to climb up the ramparts for photos of what would have been a great view over Sousse.
The museum is amazing and worth the entrance fee, but if you just want to see the kasbah, I personally don't think the 10 dinar is worth it as not much to visit. ‬

‪Just stone walls‬
משפחה • יוני 2019
‪An old fortress not very elaborate. Some simple stone walls, with crenels and a tall tower turned somehow closer to our times(in 1890) in a lighthouse. The fortress is home for an archeological museum, not very large but interesting enough, where you can see especially Roman mosaics. You can visit the inner yard, but there isn’t anything really spectacular. You cannot climb the walls, from where you could have great view of the city. What a pity!‬

‪Be prepared to haggle - please feel free to use the phrase "My ancestors are insulted" as many times as needed. A nice gentleman who was on his may 1st holiday was kind enough to give us a history of the Kasbah - after which we then went to the ladies street to purchase wool.‬

‪Very fine museum with beautiful mosaic collection‬

‪This Kasbah in Sousse has a very nice museum inside and it is one place not to miss when you are in Sousse. The Kasbah itself is large and magnificent and offers a great view over the Sousse medina. The museum has a large collection of mosaics and some other art pieces. I found the mosaic collection to be one of the best I have seen so far and as I admired the different mosaics I can't help thinking how much work it has gone through to restore all the tiny pieces of mosaics into a complete art piece. Great place to spend an afternoon!‬

‪Magnificent place‬

‪Newly renovated, with all the technology implementations from glass elevators to free Wi-Fi. The building in in mint condition, while all the elements were kept every stone was cleaned and restored to its beautiful state. It is now the home of the Archeological Museum. It holds a vast collection of Roman mosaic, quite impressive, probably the best on the African coast. It stands tall and imposing on top of the hill cant miss it from anywhere in the old and new city. It take a long walk through the winding small streets of The Medina to get to it but I assure you it is all worth it. A must see while in Sousse.‬
