Fantastic visit , our second, with so much to see and new bits being uncovered . It was more expensive than stated but still good value.

Guess after some time, we may have had enough of ancient ruins. Perge is not a lot different and not very special except it was the home of Greek mathematician, Apollonius. However it is famous for its temple of Artemis.

It was beautiful in a sense that you get to see ruins and most of it is well preserved but it wasn’t too life changing. For me the highlight was the theater. But overall I don’t think it was too worth it because it was the same scenery everywhere you went and I think there’s other cities with better views. Although if this is the only place you’ll be visiting then I think it will be a good activity to do.

Beautiful place to walk around, was there in mid day and didn’t really come across anyone else which was perfect as i could take my time exploring through all the ruins and imagining what it would of been like back then. Paid 100 lira to get in so was worth its money.

Very interesting place to visit, be sure to have a guide so you know what is what. I would say it's worth doing as part of a trip to Aspendos too and not just on its own. Was bigger than expected.

I love to educate myself with history and since we were in Antayal we visited The Perge City first. I remember paying the entrance fee but not sure how much. It's a nice long walk around ancient ruins, a well-preserved site although the path is not even all the way but manageable.
There are information boards throughout the area so it's nice to read what you are looking at. I believe it's still an active archeological site as we could see small teams of people working around the stadium. People that enjoy exploring history will love this place, especially with a minimal crowd.
It's a huge area so one can easily spend a couple of hours. we spent 2-3 hours. It's best to keep a bottle of water as the gift shop is next to the entrance/ exit.
I wouldn't have missed this site.

Perge is well worth going to
You can get there by public transport (Tram then walk or taxi) but I would revommend one of the tours: easier, you got to several other sites and you get a guide.

We visited the Aspendos in the morning just after the entrance opens. It is the best time to take photos. Almost it looks like a private tour. We are so happy to walk on the stage freely

Extraordinary ancient city in (comparatively) superb condition. The theatre, stadium, and main bath houses in particular are in great shape and would be huge attractions in northern europe (where we get exicted about visible foundations of Roman buildings let alone almost intact theatres). Great sense of scale overall with the roads extending in various directions, and overall a beautiful and evocative site with very few other visitors when we went. We even saw 3 wild tortoises, quite big so presumably quite old. Well recommended.

I visited Perge through an organised trip. I loved every second. My guide was extremely knowledgeable. I thought she was slightly bonkers but utterly engaging.
If you enjoy history, this is a must see site. It is quite incredible.

I'm going with my son who will be in a pram and won't be walking yet. From the pictures the flooring looks a bit uneven do you think it would be suitable to go round with a pram?

I’d shop around for a tour guide as the site works in partnership with Antalya Museum (where many of the funds are displayed) and one of the local universities. We used U Can Travel (with an office in Antalya) and their guide was a Professor from the university, providing a historical tour of Perge, Aspendos and Side.

Если Вы добираетесь до Перге своим ходом от города Аксу, дорога идет перпендикулярно шоссе на Анталию и, кажется, называется Перге ела. Там находится не очень большая мечеть с Минаретом. В Самом Перге открытая площадка - музей!

Hello I have a few questions: 1. How can you get a tour guide? 2. How long does it take to see the ruins for someone interested in the history 3. is there any way to avoid walking for hours /facilities for people with walking issues ?

You questions have pretty much been mostly answered but I did want to clear up the issue with the Colosseum being closed for years. It is actually open for touring and it is by far one of the best preserved Greco-Roman theater's in the world. Exploring by foot is necessary but the path's and roads are not difficult to walk on. On a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the most difficult to navigate by foot, I would estimate that Perge would rate around a 2 to 3. Two hours would be a decent amount of time to explore as long as you're not a budding archaeologist.

the tram to the expo has a stop called 'aksu 1'. From there it is a 20min walk to the ruins. We purchased the transport antalya card from a mobile phone shop and you use that on the tram. It was very hot on the 20 min walk, but it was hotter inside the site.Taxi from old city quotes 90 TL which we paid to get there because I did not know the tram went so close. Returned to the city on the tram which has a stop very close to the old city when it returns

Las entradas a Perge las pagamos allá, en el ingreso. Igual que en casi todos los paseos, como Troya o Efeso.... No pagamos nada de eso desde Argentina. No sé si les sirve la respuesta!!! Es hermosísimo Perge y no dejen de ir a Aspendos que no es lejos y es un muy hermoso anfiteatro, muy bien conservado
