Wow! We booked for a private sunset horse riding experience and it didn't disappoint... it was amazing! The yard was well organised, so when we got there we were greeted by the friendly, helpful staff, kitted up and shown to our horses. The horses were all beautiful and ready to go. It was such an incredible way to explore Red and Rose Valley and we definitely wouldn't have seen half as much if we'd gone on foot. We had a nice stop for a drink (cash is preferred here!) and stopped for photos in a variety of areas. The riding experience is something my girls still talk about now - they absolutely loved it. If you're in Cappadocia, check out the horse riding with the Dalton Brothers... its AMAZING!

I did the sunrise ride with Dalton Brothers ranch. Though the location is wonderful, the horses are in a good condition and the booking process was very simple, there are some negative things I have to share. I signed up as an experienced rider (I’m a horse trainer myself) and I was put in a group with 3 other people - all beginners. We rode the whole ride in a line, one by one. There was no trot or Galopp for me. The other thing is - when I book a 2 hours sunrise ride, I expect a 2 hours ride. In reality we spend 30-40 min at a coffee place.
Furthermore I had my Hotel in Cavusin, a 10 min car drive from the ranch. I had to beg via e mail that someone can pick me up in the morning. Instead I was requested to take a taxi. Well the ride started at 6 AM in the morning, I’m a young foreign women, traveling alone in a new country - the least I expect is the service of a pick up for a 50€ charge of riding.
Still I recommend the ranch for its good care of the horses, friendly guides and well organization. But as an experienced rider I wouldn’t book here again.

We wanted to get up into the hills/stones and see the sunset - there are several options available - walking, car to the top, ATV through the area and horseriding. We chose horseriding and the Dalton Brothers - it was the right choose - the only reason I didn't give it a 5 had nothing to do with the Dalton group - but just because the number of ATVs and horses from other groups. It's a wonderful ride - a shuttle picks you up, you're selected the best horse for you and then start the line all the way up to a plateau - where you take a break, have a refreshment (purchased) and see the sunset begin. On the way down you get incredible views. When the ATVs go a little dust storm is created - but the horses stay in line, are gentle and have great guides. The do a good job trying to keep you spaced between the various tours. The guides are wonderful - several walk along side the group and answer any questions and keep everyone in order and in a line (even if you get separated from each other they get you right back with your partner).

positives.
The 2 hour trek was an adventure and the views are stunning. You get to go at walking pace and it feels safe for non riders. The trek takes you to the top of a ridge where you can see amazing views of red valley and Gorome.
The guide was friendly and took sunset pictures of everyone on their horses.
we got back to the ranch just as it was getting dark. very memorable.
Negatives.
My wife was scared when she got on her horse as she felt the horse was unsteady. The staff member helping her mount and get settled was abrupt and dismissive but he didn’t appreciate that she had a very serious accident last year and broke her jaw and smashed her teeth
The trek is very dusty and you end up following other groups who throw up lots of dust which is very unpleasant.
somewhat unnecessarily, we were not allowed to take a bag with water which would have been much appreciated at the half way point.

Great adventure! Cappadocia is beautiful but the most wonderful was the group of people who are already like friends to me. Incredible hospitality, delicious food prepared and served in beautiful surroundings and the best company. Beautiful and smart horses. The Dalton Brothers crew is very professional, friendly and I will never forget these days. I will definitely come back ❤️🏇🏻 Thank you guys 🥰

We were recommended by Aza Cave hotel when we asked for a horse riding experience. And this ranch is managed by friendly and honest people. One of us lost our mobile phone after the ride and we realized this only after we got back to our hotel. But the ranch somehow found and safe kept it and later went out of their way to return it back to us. We were very grateful and delighted with their honesty and going out of their way. Our lead rider who is from Afghanistan was a very friendly man. He told us stories about enchanting Kapadokya during our ride.

We did the sunset horse ride and really enjoyed it! The staff were very friendly, attentive and you could see that they look after the horses well and that they really have a passion for what they are doing. The places we went to (sword valley and rose valley) were beautiful and discovering them on a horse at sunset was just an amazing experience. Definitely recommend both the ride and the ranch!

Terrible Experience at Dalton Brothers Ranch
Date of Incident: Wednesday, May 29, 2024
I had a horrendous and dangerous experience at Dalton Brothers Ranch. Before booking, I specifically asked the staff if the horses were calm, as I have no riding experience. They assured me that the horses were very gentle and that I would only need to enjoy the scenery. To further ease my concerns, they assigned me a guide who would walk with me and hold the reins of my horse.
Trusting their assurances, I got on the horse. After walking for about 5 to 10 minutes, the guide left me alone. Shortly after, some quads drove by, and the next thing I remember is waking up in an MRI scanner.
The noise from the quads spooked the horse, causing it to bolt. The horse was not trained to handle the sound of quads, therefor the Dalton Brothers have failed to secure my safety. They failed to explain what to do in such a situation and did not mention any safety measures.
I was thrown off and sustained severe bruising around my hips and the surrounding muscles. A "Muscle Fracture" the doctor stated. Although I suffered no broken bones or internal bleeding, the pain was intense and it was hard to move, sit or walk.
I had to return to my hotel in excruciating pain, unable to participate in any of the activities I had planned for my vacation, including a hot air balloon ride I had been dreaming of for years. The rest of my trip was ruined, spent in bed in pain. I also had to endure the pain on the flight home and was unable to return to work upon my return.
I sought compensation for the negligence and the suffering caused, but the ranch has ignored my claims. Their only response was a brief WhatsApp message stating that it was an outdoor activity with animals.
To make matters worse, the ranch contacted the hospital, which allegedly stated that there was nothing wrong with me, raising suspicions of local corruption aimed at avoiding liability.
Reading other reviews, I found that accidents are not uncommon at Dalton Brothers Ranch, including one incident where a woman spent four days in the ICU.
Dalton Brothers Ranch's negligence and lack of concern for their guests' safety are appalling. They are indifferent to the emotional trauma and the impact on people's lives and work after such accidents. Save yourself the grief and avoid booking any tours with Dalton Brothers Ranch. It is a disgrace how poorly they ensure the safety of their guests.

The horses are very well groomed, and the instructions for us beginners are very clear. The guides walked with us throughout the whole trip to make sure everyone’s well taken care of, they are very friendly as well, offered to take a lot of photos for us. I’m glad that we went on this tour because in my opinion, you wouldn’t get to observe and enjoy as much the beautiful sceneries in Cappadocia with ATV cuz it’s relatively faster. Highly recommend this

We were picked up and dropped off at our hotel in Goreme. When we went this month, the price was 110 Turkish lira per person for a ride to and through the Rose Valley and back.
