‪An historical Gem in the Heart of Erzurum, walking distance from virtually all the other major attractions in the City of Erzurum, this newly renovated and restored historical building gives insight into the origins of the District of Erzurum, and the background for the current, modern Turkey.‬

‪This is the place if you want to see Erzurum silver products displayed in authentic market. It's the place to buy thier unique silver rings , black stone and etc. Yet always ask for price reduction and visit few stores before you buy. There is a nice little cafe outside and various shops .. So I wd recommend a walk around Rustem Pasha if you have time ‬

‪Rustem Pasha is the grand vizier/Sadrazam of the Ottoman Sultan, Kanuni Sultan Suleyman/The Magnificient Suleyman. He built this Kervanserai due to the needs of merchants and visitors. It is a well-restored inn and reecently used as jewelery market. Erzurum has many spectacular features such as its organic gem called "Oltu Stone". According to the geological literature, it is called jet stone. Erzurum people especially like to use prayer beads made of jet stone. You can find varieties of jewelery and pieces produced by the jet stone/Oltu Stone and silver. The prices are very inexpensive. Please make a visit to the Rustem Pasha Kervanserai and buy some souvenir from Erzurum:)‬

‪It is a bazaar built in 16th century. It is famous for jewelry made of Oltutaşı (black amber) special to Erzurum area. It is full of shops selling similar kind of jewelry but worth seeing if you are at the area‬

‪This place is built back in 16th century as a bazaar and it still serves as a bazaar. It's also known as "Taşhan" (means stone inn). It has both an outdoor courtyard and indoor area. All the shops sell more or less the same things: jewelery and similar objects made of "oltu" stone, a material special to Erzurum region. Just maybe the day we visited we were very tired and the weather was awful that we did not find it interesting at all. But if you are in Erzurum and if you have time, you've better visit it.‬

‪This place was built in 1550. It's worth a stroll around as
there is more variety now than in previous years. The Oltutasi
( black amber ) is used for quite a number of jewellery pieces.‬
