I was looking for a contemporary museum in St. Petersburg and was recommended to the ARTMUZA museum by a friend - also like ERATA on Vasilyevsky Island. As I found out, this was a former musical instrument factory.
Works by various artists can be viewed over three floors.
But it is not just the works on display that are to be viewed; the entire building is a single work of art that is bursting with creativity.
There are many small shops, offices and stores that fit harmoniously into the overall structure. The stylish cafes invite you to take a break.
All in all a great concept that should be seen. Admission is free.

ArtMuza is not in the city center...it's an eclectic collection of fashion designers, artists and other culture-focused endeavors. We visited in mid-March when a special exhibit by Constantine Suhoplyev was on display. His focus on American jazz and blues was unexpected!
Admission is free. Exhibits are on display on three floors. Along with the art on exhibit, there are fashion-design shops, which have creations available for sale. There are also two cafes in the building, and here is a robust music calendar in the fifth floor club.
