Pretty cool place to hike, you can see birds and stuff. You can also walk over the water on walkways and see aquatic wildlife.

Fun walk, lots of turtles and frogs of all kinds. May go back there this afternoon. You can't miss seeing or hearing the frogs and turtles as well as large birds.

I've lived in DC for years and was amazed I didn't discover this place earlier. Beautiful walk in the marshlands any time of the year. Bring a pair of binoculars so you can check out the birds. You might see a blue heron.

I love this park, and I try to go 3-4 times a month. I am an amateur photographer, and there is so much wonderful wildlife to photograph. Everything from beavers to a wide assortment of birds. This is a wildlife preserve, so in order to encourage wildlife they limit where you can bring dogs. I know this is unpopular for dog owners, but the wildlife prefer it that way.

This is definitely a bird watching place! Several people with large cameras! We saw several types of birds, and it had a very friendly atmosphere with people pointing out what was being spotted. Highly recommend for bird watching or a quiet walk!

I have been birding here weekly for 5 years and it is a treasure. Has trails and a boardwalk that reaches over the wetlands. No jogging or bikes allowed on the boardwalk and all dogs must be on leash. The wildlife is clinging here to one of the last undisturbed parcels of wetland and woods--you can see deer, beaver, turtles and frogs but it is mostly bird habitat.

No dogs allowed on the boardwalk. Very silly. It’s a nature path with no indication until we got here about no dogs allowed. Path is covered in poison ivy on both sides. A dog is least of their problems when it comes to maintaining the grounds.

I've been going here since I was a child. It's always an interesting place. SO peaceful and serene. I'd recommend it to anyone who just wants to get away from it all for an afternoon.

Went on Saturday and Sunday evenings in the hour before sunset. On Saturday, experienced slight downpour and smell of ozone. Beavers are doing great job of raising water levels. Wonderful experience walking through the forest. Saw recent arrival of beautiful bright yellow prothonotary warbler. Saw muskrats, beavers, and hooded mergansers with babies and huge alligator snapping turtles. Sunday was much cooler and windy but saw muskrats being amorous, Sora in grass and many Redwing Blackbirds in full red display mode. Practiced my photography.
