We were pleasantly surprised by the nice collection and displays of natural history items and historical items from the area. There are two small buildings and the collection is not properly protected. We took shelter in the garage/barn where historical items are stored and displayed during a tremendous downpour from a thunderstorm. The roof drainage was overwhelmed and water poured through the valley in the roof flooding the floor. We felt insecure standing in water with lightning bouncing around and lighting fixtures flickering.

This is an outing to be expected for a place such as Miramar, where quiet by nature is the top priority. If you visit this museum under such frame of mind, you are bound to have a nice time learning a bit about the area.
