After an easy going down walk, you finally get at this great beach where usually nobody gets!
Two-three tents with people camping are there hidden inside the trees, you ll always find shade and sandy, important!!
On the way back you have to walk up for about 2 kms, so be prepared for thirst and heat or leave after 18.30.
Another way to get is by hiring a small taxi boat.
Soon back!!

Potamos Beach is a hidden jewel of Gavdos Island. You can visit the beach on foot from Ampelos village. It's about 50 minutes walk downward and 1 hour walk upwards. It's a fact that small yatchs visit the beach as well through the day.
It's a perfect choice to hike and enjoy nature.
I loved the beach because
-the water was deep blue and perfect.
-the beach is not crowded like Ai Giannis, Tripiti or Lavraka Beach, so you will have a whole beach on your own.
-The beach is sandy
-You can enjoy snorkeling.
Take a look of the photos and you will get a perfect idea what i mean.
At the same time i have to mention that there is a trail from Potamos Beach towards Pyrgos Beach - Lavraka and then Ai Gianni beach.
I do not recommend the beach for children because of the 1 hour walk up and down. So it's not recommended for families.
It's definitely a great experience if you visit the island of Gavdos. A hidden jewel and a big must.
