‪Beautiful experience!‬
יוני 2021 • זוגות
‪What a beautiful venue! Being here was my first time in NJ. My fiance and I traveled here to see Ace Enders play a super small and more intimate show. Had to only be about 50+ tickets sold. The show was done by tables so we had to purchase a table of 4 for the 2 of us but it was SO worth it. The show was on their side patio. They had drinks and snacks available by table service. The sound was great, the show was so amazing and I am so grateful to have gotten to see someone I had admired since I was in high school so close in front of me and singing my favorite songs. The venue itself was so clean and nice. Staff was helpful and friendly. Parking was nice - a lot right down the street has cheap parking you can pay by card. If there is something I was to see here again, I will definitely go. We need more small patio shows like this!‬

‪Beautiful theater‬
פבר׳ 2020
‪This is a beautiful theater that hosts many different types of shows and events. We've been here many times, most recently to see a touring productions of Rent.

We have also seen shows produced by Phoenix producation, a local nonprofit theater group, including Newsie and Peter Pan.

Parking sucks (as is does in all of Red Bank). I recommend you get to Red Bank early, park your car and have dinner so you are not driving around looking for a spot before the show begins.‬

‪Great Venue in Red Bank NJ‬

‪I have been here about six times - always for a musical show. It’s so nice compared to the craziness of going to NYC for a concert. Park A few blocks away for free, plenty of nice restaurants. Pick an artist and enjoy!‬

‪A nice, intimate venue‬
פבר׳ 2020
‪We’ve been to Count Basie so many times over the past several years. We’ve seen concerts, plays, dance productions and psychic mediums there. Every experience has been wonderful. The staff is friendly and helpful, and though the seats are just a bit tight, they are quite comfortable. The acoustics are great too. The best past is, because it’s such a small venue, you feel close to the performers, and it’s usually very easy to interact with them. ‬

‪Seat 28 and 30, row h - lack the sensitivity to let you when you purchase the ticket how small the seats are. If you are taller than 4’9, you are in terrible. Shame on this theatre!‬

‪A Nice Historic Venue‬
דצמ׳ 2019
‪For the Christmas holiday we decided to do a family trip to Count Basie Art Center to see the performance Black Nativity Sunday Dec 29th. We ordered “print at home” tickets through the Count Basie website. (You can also download mobile tickets to your smart phone using the Ticketmaster app.)

Count Basie is a historic theater located in Downtown Red Bank on Monmouth Street. It is currently in the process of being renovated to expand and improve the building. Among the improvements is a elevator to the second floor for those going to the balcony section of the theater.

On the day of the play I arrived at the Count Basie and was very disappointed with drop off area offered by the theater – because there wasn't any. A drop off area is needed - especially for those who are handicapped or when it is raining. We had both those problems that day. One older member of our party walks slowly and must use a cane. I had planned to drive up to the front entrance of the building. But found all parking spots on the block occupied and the red bricked sidewalk in front of the theater that is intended for car drop off was blocked by a line of yellow traffic cones. So we double parked in front of the yellow cones (blocking traffic) and let everyone out before driving on to park.

The interior of the theater was old and nostalgic looking. The view of the stage from the balcony with the large chandelier over head, the bright red theater curtain and the lighted Christmas trees at each end of the stage was impressive. We were in row E of the Balcony Center section which gave us a great overview of the stage.

What we did not like about the theater were the tight seats. They were too small and I felt my knees squeezed against metal railing in front of us that separates us from the balcony walk way. My legs hurt the entire performance and I was really glad for the intermission break. The seats in the other sections of the theater are just as tight. (Not sure that this issue is planned to be fixed with the renovations).

The Black Nativity performance was incredible. The show was in two Acts starting at 4PM and ran to 7PM with a 30 min break for intermission. I was most impressed with the modern dancing and gospel soloist.

During the intermission I visited the bathroom and was surprised at how clean and modern it looked for such an old, nostalgic building. It was small and crowded with men at the break but I was not turned off by its appearance or smell.

They had a good snack bar at the lower level of the theater which offered alcohol and non alcoholic drinks, popcorn, candies and bottles of water. Of course, everything there was overpriced. I paid $4 for a small box of popcorn and $9 when I added chips and a candy bar.

After the show we had dinner at the Buona Sera an upscale, large Italian restaurant right next to the Count Basie. There are lots of restaurants close to Count Basie, but Buona Sera's location was ideal since it is a very short walk from the theater without having to cross the street - especially for those who walk slowly with a cane. It also offers gluten free dishes. In our Count Basie playbill there was an offer for a $5 pizza at the Buona Sera when you show them your printed ticket for Count Basie.

We also found out, from an earlier phone call to Buona Sera, that our dinner reservations entitled us to park our car free in their private parking lot during the performance – which was prior to our dinner at Buona Sera. The lot is diagonally across the street at the corner of Maple Ave and Monmouth Street. The White Street public parking lot is also across the street and offers free parking all day Sundays and free after 6PM other days.

When ordering “print at home” tickets, Count Basie limits the number of tickets ordered for a single address/or login to 8 tickets. Since we planned our visit for 9 people I booked 6 tickets and someone else in our party ordered the additional 3 tickets. Since some members of our party walked with a cane the 3 additional tickets were in the Orchestra section. Currently Count Basie has no elevators to the balcony, so those with problems walking up stairs should book Orchestra seats until the new renovations are completed.‬

‪Excellent Community Theater location‬
דצמ׳ 2019
‪Visited to see the NJ Symphony and Monmouth Chorus. The performance was nothing short of excellent from start to finish. The theater was nicely restored a few years back and is now undergoing an expansion which hardly detracts. The sound and lighting was excellent the performance. We sat in the front row of the Loge which gave excellent visibility. Leg room was sufficient though some in the balcony can be quite tight so be careful of seat selection. In and out of the theater was very efficient even with added metal detectors for security. Only concern is local parking. Not bad on a Sunday but can be a big challenge on a Friday night or Saturday so you may need to allow a few extra minutes for a walk from public parking a few blocks away in different directions. Plenty of good restaurants with a very wide array of food within a very short drive or even walking distance.‬

‪Great show, only negative they did the song they were trying to sell twice, would have preferred to hear a different song rather than a repeat of the same song. Great night‬
