‪I have booked for one night stay at Zia Park & Casino together with two of my colleagues. We just wanted to go out of our town and travelled to Hobbs to chill and play casino. What had surprised us is the poor service, attitude, communication and lack of training of the entire hotel staff and specially the waitress in the steak house restaurant. I am an F&B Operations Manager with 18 years' experience working in the hospitality industry around the world with 97 nationalities but never seen this service in my life.

we went to dined in the steak house Restuarant. The waitress was informed to my friend who is an Executive chef that his voice is too loud inside the restaurant, if he doesn't lower his voice tone might throw us out. Seriously this how a waitress or waiter should approach a customer in hospitality industry. In fact, the restaurant was empty with only three guests. Never mind, However, we left the restaurant on the spot, and we all went to the Tokyo steak house & sushi restaurant outside the hotel.

After we came back to the hotel, we went to the casino again to play, after sometimes we decided to have a drink in the Gate bar. That the moment myself and the Executive Chef we get really really upset, when I saw the waitress lady came all the way from the Steak house restaurant to Gate bar, saying her another colleague not to serve us drink. What the hell, we are paying not drink for free, I would like to ask you the general manager with all my respect did we fight or disturbed anyone during our stay at your hotel. Indeed No.....The supervisor in the restaurant is not even qualify to be a restaurant in charged in that night, not even knows how to handle a complaint. No apologies were extended.

I have been looking to meet you on that night, unfortunately you were not around. At least put a second in charged or a manager on duty when you are not around who can handle a guest complaint. Not a restaurant supervisor who not even know his job responsibility. Still, I was waiting for you in the morning, and we were running time to leave a bit early. I kindly request to let your HR department to provide the staff with proper training specially how to approach a guest. Hope on my next visit, I would not like to see that waitress unless she had a good attitude approach.

Last not the least, I don't know if the Assistant Front Office Manager left you a message on my complaint if no, I think they don't value your guest when they stay at your hotel. Because until not I don't hear anything or an email with an apology on my service I have received. I hope this complaint will take into consideration and not to happen to any of your guest staying in Zia Park Casino.‬

‪Staff is always excellent, they are always smiling and happy to help with anything necessary during your visit. Many machines to choose from. I also did not stay in a room, this was a solo evening. Just went to play. So the review with 5* about sleep quality is not valid. The rest is correct. Relax and have fun. Because if it's not fun, you probably shouldn't be doing it anyway.‬

‪Worst casino ever! Don’t waste your money here. My partner and I are frequent casino visitors and have been to many across the country and this is by far the worst! It doesn’t give back what you put in and pay outs are minimal. There’s definitely NO party going on, no jack pot bells going off, no staff doing cash pay outs, no people yelling with excitement! No alcoholic drinks or smoking aloud. All the machines are old and have a generic feel to them the nicer mainstream games are always taken. Just No No No!!!‬

We are very sorry to hear about your experience. We paid out over $3 Million dollars in jackpots in June. We hope that you find better luck on your next visit. Alcohol not being allowed on the casino floor is a state regulation but you can always enjoy a drink at the bar and then come play on the casino floor. Smoking is permitted in the casino now. Restrictions were lifted in New Mexico which allowed smoking to come back. We installed several new games in June and have more coming in July. We appreciate the feedback to help us improve and hope to earn a better rating from you in the future.

‪Casino area is a little tight on space. The steak centennial steakhouse has a mediocre choice on cuts of meat. Price is ridiculously high for subpar cuts of meat, and you have to.pay for your sides. Ordered the 10oz prime rib was brought out a ribeye not an issue that was remedied in 5 minutes. The cuts were extremely tough at a medium temp cook. Definitely could have enjoyed a better steak at texas roadhouse. In summary save your pocket and pallette some disappointment.‬

‪The Centennial Steakhouse & Pub had just reopened post covid and was experiencing difficulties with their new menu ordering system- appetizers, soup and main course arrived at the same time! This will undoubtedly be resolved shortly. However, the service at the table and the food were both outstanding.‬

‪Another example of a company, this case a casino cheapening their product in offerings and blaming it on COVID related precautions. No smoking (which I’m glad about) No drinking, No winning and very few food and beverage options. Just like WinStar Casino in Oklahoma....they’ve tightened the machines, cut out services so they can rake in as much money and offer the least to save on expenses. The new America way I guess. Won’t be back....nothing else to see here! Thank goodness their hotel webpage was jacked up and couldn’t make reservations, sure I missed out a treat or two their.‬

Thank you for taking the time to give us a review. We are following all Covid Safe Practices required in New Mexico which permits us to be open. There are non alcoholic beverages available for casino guests in our steakhouse but the self service areas are not permitted to be open and we are not permitted to have alcohol on the casino floor. Starting Gate Bar and Grill is open for guests to dine and this weekend our Steakhouse will reopen and be open every Friday and Saturday. We hope that you have a winning trip in the casino on your next visit and appreciate your patience and understand as we work through operating under the Covid Safe Practices required in New Mexico.

‪Enjoyed playing in the Slot Tournament even though I didn't win. Won enough Wednesday night to play the rest of the trip and take home all the cash I took with me. ‬

‪I made a reservation at 1:00 pm I arrived at the hotel at 6:30pm and was waiting in line with 8 other people. It was 30 min before they was to get anyone in a room.The lady at the front desk said she was waiting on a manager which was driving from her home to Ok the rooms that was already ready. When I finally got up to the desk she said there was no more single king size beds left. I told her that I already made my reservation earlier that day for a king bed room. She got me in a double bed room at no extra cost. I use CLC for booking threw my job and they still wanted a card on file. When I went to check out they was going to charge my credit card and I told them the Third party company was going to pay them. she said they would have to charge my card so I had to call CLC for them to pay before I left. I have been all over Oklahoma, Texas and New Mexico and never had this issue with a hotel. The tub was stained but the room was clean. I would give it a 6 out of 10. I will not be back!!‬

‪Went with a friend to see what it is like. The blackjack table with the digital interactive dealer was the highlight. She watched me everywhere I went. Lol. Kinda smoky. It there is a no smoking section and the bar served good quesadillas. They would limit my friends alcohol intake after the first two to only one every two hours....Can’t wait to see the horses run.‬
