Do not believe their website or personal contact with them that I made prior to visiting the area, specifically their operations manager (name withheld) who assured me several times prior there would be no issues if we arrived first thing May 6. We got there early and had to wait at least 1/2 hour for the worker there who was rude and impatient with us. After finally getting her attention we were informed she would text us "later in the afternoon" when a tour might be available. Being from out of town I had already planned a rough agenda for our 3 night visit to the area and wasn't going "to wait around" for when it suited them. The people waiting after us in line were equally annoyed as were the couple coming in from the parking lot that we told warned them about the issues.

Really loved the cave experience! A must visit if you are doing something visiting around the area. We have visited Lurray caverns last year and I would call this a short version of it without missing any of the fun experience.

Great tour! The whole family, even older kids had a great time. Tour guide was great and the facts and stories were very interesting. The caverns were beautiful! Also true that the caves are not handicapped accessible.

Very nice staff - however IT IS NOT ACCESSIBLE for those with disabilities or difficulty walking. You have to go down (and then up) 71 steps.

When I booked the ticket, I didn't have idea how look like the cave! But when we arrived and entered the cave, I saw something is very amazing and worth it to come and have the tour inside the cave.. different experience!

Nice people who help you assemble for the tour. Steps going up/down are wide and have good spacing. We had a very nice guide and it was fun walking along enjoying nature's spectacle. There were shallow puddles here and there but walking around was easy. I enjoyed most of the stories and facts the guide presented but the "fairy tale" parts and pointing out rocks that looked (vaguely) like dragons etc. really slowed things down and got everyone bunched up, we wished we could keep walking. Our group just seemed too big, just too many people all trying to see the same things and take pictures in small spaces. As we came out, there was a bigger group waiting to go in with a young woman guide who was yelling really loud and seemed annoyed...so were were lucky to get the group and guide we had. Overall, a pleasant visit though.

Very pleasant tour. Our tour guide Maria had a lot of fun facts as well as some fun stories to tell! They had a lot of beautiful formations and really know there history of the place. A nice surprise was the goats :)

GREAT tour of the caverns. Our tour guide, Moriah, was excellent. The tour was just the right amount of time.....about 45 minutes. It was a very interesting cavern to visit. There were some steps to walk down to get to the entrance. It was not hard and we did not feel rushed at all. Well worth the visit. Beautiful area.

We visited the Indian Echo Caverns while we were spending some time in the Lancaster area. Chris was a wonderful tourguide - mixing in fairy tales along with true historic stories about the caverns. Pointing out designs in the rocks so we could see the animals & telling us about the 3 different lakes in the cavern. We all enjoyed our visit to the Indian Echo Caverns.

I wish there were more tours that were self guided or didn’t involve a guide telling stories or trying to make you see things like princesses or fairies in the formations. I just want to enjoy the peaceful beauty of nature but you can’t when they are talking the whole time. No time to just enjoy nature on these tours. My teen and I were both frustrated because you are shuffled from place to place while they shine a light on one thing and talk loud about what they think it looks like. It just was too geared towards very young kids.

We're thinking about doing this with our 4 and 6 year olds while we're visiting Hersheypark. The tour itself is about 45 minutes. How much time should we plan for our overall visit if we do the petting zoo and gem mining as well?

It really depends on how your children are feeling that day and how focused they are. It also depends on how big a bucket you get for the gem part. I'd estimate at least 45 - 60 minutes for both, with up to another hour of wiggle room depending on how they feel.

Indian Echo Caverns are open 31 December from 10 AM to 4 PM. The only days they close all year are Christmas and New Years. Adults are $18 (12 years old and older, $16 for seniors. $10 for children under 12. They also honor AAA and military discounts. Enjoy and Happy New Year.
