Kordopulova House is a traditional house in Melnik, which nowadays is a museum of traditional life in the 18th Century and it is located in the surroundings of the center of Melnik, a wine town in the South-West of Bulgaria. It is a museum, which you can visit and see some old style rooms (typical rooms from Ottoman era), where you can see the life of people. Also, it is possible to visit the underground cellar and taste one of the wines. Very nice and interesting museum.

We enjoyed our visit to the delightful village of Melnik and our tour of this house and its rooms showing what life in Bulgaria once was like.
The cave wine cellar was fun to explore.
We did not really like any of the wines we tasted, but the tasting experience with the little bites of food they served was a pleasant ending to our time at this house.

This is a great monument of Bulgaria's old traditions and fight for independence. It is a must-see if you are in the area. One criticism - the winery is likely not functional anymore (or at least it looks like that way) and the "wine tasting" they offer at the end of the tour is a joke!! They are offering sour and diluted brown liquid somewhat resembling wine..... Total disgrace! It is spoiling the whole experience in this beautiful house!! What a shame.....

In order to get to the museum you have to go through several rather steep streets. Entrance is cheap. At the end of the visit, you can buy a souvenir or a brand. There are halls that are connected both with people's everyday life and with the production of wine. You can also take part in a wine tasting.

Fascinating old house in Melnik which has been kept in “original” state with rooms laid out with traditional furnishings, and good information boards throughout. Wine tasting at the end was a bonus!

This is a must see and real treasure. Amazing experience - seeing and feeling all these components (architecture, space, shapes, colors, light and progressive/ innovative ideas for the time of construction). This is in full harmony with nature, history, art and location and they are wonderfully reflecting the beauty of this house. Don't miss to take the stairs and see the sun clock at the roof of the house. Just Beautiful.

The house is really nice, the informations of each room are translated in English (big plus). But the master piece of the visit is the cave dug in the mountain.
But don’t expect wine degustation with some information given, they only gave you to taste if you want to buy after. (Better to go to the wine museum if you want a real discussion around the wine).

Very interesting house well worth the small admission fee which includes wine tasting. Beautiful rooms with good explanations in three languages. Fab views and the great rose wine tops off the visit.
