‪Nice outing, tour needs some improvements‬
‪נוב׳ 2021‬
‪I have heard of Sabino Canyon and always wanted to check it out so while staying at the Westin La Paloma which is about a 10 minute drive away we decided to visit. The website indicates that no cars are allowed and you either have to walk or take a open air tram ride/tour. We arrived 30 minutes in advance of the first tour departure (hourly) only to discover all tickets were already gone. So we were able to purchase tickets for the next departure in one hour. As we boarded the tram, we were handed ear buds in order to listen to the recorded tour. The tour guide was very adamant that masks must be worn at all times. On an open-air tram!? I realize it is law but it seemd ridiculous and she was almost aggressive about her reminders to keep them on. We settled in hoping to hear all about the canyon, the cactus and animals as we rode but the recorded tour was disappointing. Lots of time gaps and very superficial information. It would have been nice to hear all the interesting facts about the saguaro cactus for example but it was merely named with no further information. You are allowed to get off at any of the 9 stops and many people did so that they could hike. We gave up on the uninformative tour and did get off about halfway back and walked to our car. One tip I'd like to pass along is that you can actually purchase your tram tickets in advance online and I would definitely recommend going on one of the earlier departures. Tram tour starts at 9,‬

‪Awesome scenery‬

‪My husband and I took the Sabino Canyon Crawler to the top, hiked a little and walked down. Beautiful scenery and certainly showed the diversity of the terrain in Tucson.‬

‪SLURRY THE ROAD PAST 1.5 miles where the rough road begins and never ends.‬
נוב׳ 2021
‪I'm an avid cyclist, and was told that this was a place to ride to the end of the "roadway". I didn't realize the roadway was a pothole mess past about 1.5 miles in. Some of those scenarios could get someone hurt, who isn't experienced, or is just being just plain stupid. I don't know if that access road has been paved recently (it SURE DOESN'T LOOK LIKE IT) , but it could certainly use a slurry at least. If you're going to advertise it for bikes, please make it safer for them.‬

‪Average if you’re from the Rockies!‬

‪Was disappointed in my trip up Sabino Canyon, but I’m also from Utah and used to a wide range of mountain hikes to choose from. It’s $8 to park, then $12 for a 45 min open air shuttle w a narration abt the cacti and animals of the canyon. The average visitor gets off the shuttle at the top and walks down the canyon on the asphalt road (no shade) for abt 4 miles back to the Visitors Center. There are some off shoot hikes but the only real attraction was two swimming holes that required several hours of hiking to access. Went on the noon shuttle and it was 90 degrees and no shade- too hot for my hiking tastes! Visitors center was very small and didn’t have much to look at. For $20, I think I would have picked another outdoor activity instead. ‬

‪A Tucson Favorite‬
אוק׳ 2021
‪This was one of the highlights of our fall visit to the Tucson area. We started with a hike through the desert area, admiring the cacti and vegetation which is all nicely labeled. We then took the tram trip into the canyon. This is a 45 minute narrated trip describing the area, wildlife and history of the canyon. The tram makes nine stops and you can get off at any one and then hike it on your own. Keep in mind that it is pretty much all uphill if you get off before the half way point, and this tram goes through just once an hour, so it is not like you can quickly hop on the next one. If you get off at the halfway point it is pretty much a downhill hike, but it still is a good distance back to the start. Dress appropriately, have water and enjoy the canyon, it is most beautiful!‬

‪What a great visit to Sabino, enhanced by the informative driver or our bus. Beautiful scenery and time to walk around at the top of the drive. ‬

‪So beautiful!‬

‪We took the trolley tour and it was fantastic! Absolutely a diffierent view seeing things from the bottom! I would advise against walking/hiking the paved trail unless you are experienced and have lots of water...there is little to no airflow in the canyon and it gets HOT. Our trolley driver was amazing and it was nice to just sit back and relax and enjoy the views.‬

‪My husband and I visited Sabino Canyon in February. The weather was perfect for hiking. We hiked on the 7 Falls Trail. It was 8 miles round-trip and we did a little over half of it. It took us about 2 and a half hours to hike it. The scenery was beautiful with cacti all over.‬

‪Amazing and unique adventure‬

‪What a great outing. A coworker that had lived in Tucson as a college student told me not too miss. He was right! Go early and take the tram tour. We arrived around 8 and bought the last 4 tickets for the 10am shuttle. That gave us time for a short hike from the visitor center. The visitor center has a nice selection of books and gifts. So the shuttle takes you up into the canyon. There is no driving beyond the visitor center so this takes you up the canyon for lots of exploring without making the 4 mile hike in uphill. The shuttle driver describes the scenery as they drive. There are 9 stops, you can get on and off as you like if there is room. We stayed on thru stop 9. Then we hiked back down exploring and taking pictures. It’s easy walking as it’s all down hill. Take plenty of water as not all the stops had water to refill from. For the adventurous there are lots of hikes off the designated stops. Totally worth shuttle price. I would definitely go early. If hiking is not your thing or you can’t just taking guided tram out and back is totally worth it.‬

‪Good morning adventure‬

‪We visited the canyon early 8:00 a.m. to try and beat the heat (didn’t work). We took the shuttle tour with the narration. It was open air and covered roof that provided some breeze and shade which was nice. The tour had nine stops and lasted one hour for $12. It was a good morning activity‬
