‪Small calm museum with many beautiful things to look at.‬

‪Small museum with many beautiful things to look at, good interpretive notes in English and well worth your time if art is an interest. The museum is currently open, today from 6.15 am to 1pm.‬

‪This beautiful little church is located behind the main shops. We stumbled on it by accident and it appeared to be open, however weren't sure whether we could go inside. As it turns out, other reviewers have said there is access, but signage did not indicate this. Regrettable mistake but even if its not open visit the area anyway. the courtyard comprised a mosaic which is explained in English and Greek. It was just nice to sit and relax in the shade and admire this structure.‬

‪CLOSED Ecclesiastical Museum‬
אוק׳ 2019
‪We spent a week in Adamas, Milos, in late October, 2019. We visited the exterior of this alleged museum daily. It sits in a small amphitheater like setting ringed with flowers and has splendid stone mosaics by the front door.

Unfortunately, no hours were posted, nor was the museum open at any time in the 12 times we visited attempting to enter and see their supposedly outstanding icon collections. I have never previously seen a museum that neither posted hours nor was open for weeks at a time.

While the exterior of the Church is truly lovely, as is the setting and the flowers and mosaics, as a museum person, I must say it is unprofessional to neither post your hours, state that you are closed between specific dates, or be open for long periods. Shame on the operators of this museum!‬

‪The museum is as much about the ancient church building as the wonderful ecclesiastical items it contains. Try to read up about it before you go to add to the sense of history. Easily accessible from Adamas Port area. I gather it is still an active church that converts to a museum in the summer months. Free to enter but the voluntary donation box certainly deserved a few euros.‬

‪This is a fascinating little church - now a museum. The decorations from the earliest days of Christianity are well preserved and beautiful to study. The guide was very informative and welcoming.‬

‪What a wonderful museum which filled you with peace as soon as you entered with the beautiful music. The exhibits were so interesting and well labelled so it was a real joy to be there. The lady curator was so kind and helpful. Thank you so much.‬

‪Small but interesting‬

‪It is an old small church with old icons and religious antiquities which are interesting. There is no charge to enter, as it is still a church.‬

‪Flying dragons and angels, mosaics and wood-carved icons, post-Byzantine manuscripts and gold offerings. We were surprised by the many exhibits (too many, actually) inside this tiny basilica. A very interesting site to visit!‬

‪If you always wanted to see the inside of a Greek Orthodox church....‬
זוגות • יולי 2017
‪In our travels in the Cyclades we found that most all of the Greek Orthodox churches were locked, and one was unable to visit and see the icons and holy relics. The nice thing about the Ecclesiastical Museum is that it solves that problem by allowing visitors to get close-up views of the sacred art, icons, and layout of a Greek Orthodox church.‬
