‪This is holly place for Yazidi people. The best solution to come here is to get taxi from Dohuk, Erbil or Mosul. I already pay 35000 dinars from Dohuk and I spent there 3 hours. Anyone who want to visit this holly lace I recommend to get one more pair socks because there is forbidden to enter with shoes. In winter time get warmer socks because there is very cold. ‬

‪Ancient pilgrimage place‬
ינו׳ 2020
‪Lalesh is the holy pilgrimage place for the yazidi minority. It mis located between the mountains and can be tricky to reach without a car. (Although have successfully hitchhiked there too). There are lots of ancient traditions and customs and often there is somebody to show you around and explain. Definitely recommend. Just wear warm socks in winter as you are not allowed in with your shoes!‬

‪most unique temple you can visit‬
ספט׳ 2019
‪I always enjoy exploring historic places but this temple totally surprised me! The people in and around the temple are super friendly and willing to share their knowledge about the place. Inside the temple, you will find some of the most unique rooms and extraordinary rituals, such as: making knots into a colorful cloth to solve personal issues; throwing a piece of cloth onto a small rock to grant wishes or throwing small stones with closed eyes into two openings into rock to decide whether you go to heaven or hell ;)‬

‪Fascinating ancient temple‬

‪Worth a stop if you are in Kurdish Iraq, this ancient temple is the hub of Yazidi religious worship. Plan to leave your shoes in your car to walk around the sacred grounds. Non-Yazidis can explore the above-ground spaces but won’t be allowed into the underground area. Keep an eye out for the ancient carvings and burial sites of important figures. Respectful visitors will avoid stepping on thresholds of the entryways. ‬

‪This is an absolute must on any trip to Kurdistan. This is the holiest place for the Yazidi people and they come here to pay their respects and worship.‬
